Ultimately it's more of that magical thinking. It's not that the masks have any scientific or medical basis, but more that if we all just submit to authority and show our willingness to do so by wearing the masks happily and performatively, the virus will be arcane blasted out of existence.

Does anyone else ever cackle like a goddamned supervillain every time they see news like this sweep in from the side like this and whack everyone across the head? The media and the rabid Left get so caught up in chasing after the laser pointers that they just consistently forget to look where the action is. It's been four goddamned years and they still don't get it, they literally cannot cotton on to the strategy.

I mean to be fair they're not the only ones, there's a ton of people in the middle and even on the Right who completely fail to give Trump an ounce of agency. For whatever reason, every single one of them gets so caught up in what the other side is doing that they just... Completely forget that Trump can do things, too, no matter how many times he throws things right out of left field like this.

If I had to guess, this won’t affect everything Tencent is involved in, just things that they either own completely or have a majority controlled interest. Still a hell of a lot though.

Given how much I’ve heard people complain and shittalk about Tencent, the reaction to this on social media should be entertaining. Be it then being hypocrites and defending the company or having to swallow their pride and agree with the decision
