I'm not sure if it was Portland or Seattle, but the only reason either city is turning up the heat on riot control is because ANTIFA went into the mayor's house and picketed there.
I believe that it was Seattle. I spoke this weekend to my previously-mentioned (woke liberal) friend that lives out there and she mentioned how protestors were getting closer to her own neighborhood when they went to protest at the mayor's house. Needless to say, my friend now hopes her job allows for more work to be done at home or remotely so she can move further away from the madness. I can't blame her, either.
Let that sink in. Their private property means more than the city they're supposed to represent. I betcha if the whole CITY burned down until it reached her neighborhood, she wouldn't care one bit.
I don't even live there and I'm pissed off. This is all motivated for selfish intentions. Dumb bitch.
It's easy for the mayor, or anyone else in that situation, to turn a blind eye to the protestors' violent tactics and harassment until they end up on the receiving end themselves. It's as if they believe that it's acceptable for protestors to behave inappropriately until it affects them personally.
While online polls should be taken with a large grain of salt

, it's not surprising most normies feel like they
can't support BLM if it means supporting or condoning the violent acts that have accompanied their protests.
Improvise/adapt/overcome is IMHO not as hard as everyone makes it sound.
Even though it's optimistic

in reality, imagine how much the slacktivists could accomplish if they were willing to work towards meaningful change and adapting for the situation as much as they currently work at portraying themselves as oppressed victims -- especially when plenty of people silently do whatever it takes to get by day to day.
Then you should get to know your neighbors.
In many neighborhoods where the neighbors know each other on some level, they tend to look out for each other or take notice of anything that seems out of the ordinary.
Also here in Detroit people just know the long history of what happens when you drive off businesses by firebombing them.
Agreed, but not just firebombing. There are plenty of businesses that are reluctant to locate inside Detroit's city limits because of all the other businesses driven away by crime and, to a lesser extent, bureaucracy (red tape, living wages, etc.).
