It's a thing I harp on a lot lately, but he talked about her hospitalization for her panic attack. He did it in such a way that he made nearly all of the story about him and how inconvenienced he was, and how he'd refuse her medical treatment if it happened again. He held this stream while she was still drugged and in bed. She was drugged when he got to the hospital. This means that she could not possibly have given him permission to discuss it to his viewers with a sound mind. He then monetized said stream.

He could've avoided this just by taking a day off and taking care of his fiance, but he """had""" to work. Considering we now know why he """had""" to work, I think it's safe to say that for what he traditionally spent his money on, he could have afforded to do so. I think it's also possible Leanna knew why he was so adamant to work.

Any part of that story would've made me leave my partner. That Leanna didn't dump him, move back east, leak a sex tape with John Rambo and then went on a nine-hour SoK spergstream means he got off easy.

I've been playing games since I was a little kid and I've never once hit a button and had the game ignore that input. It's such a strange excuse that he uses in just about every TIHYDP I've ever seen. It's extra strange that his audience just seems to accept these ridiculous excuses and never asks for any proof.

why is he so bad at video games? A fully developed adult should be capable of understanding that if the game tells you the A button jumps, you should press A to jump. It honestly makes me feel nothing but pity towards an adult in his late 30s being this bad at such a formulaic and simple thing.

This is a great point. Fighting games have changed a lot since Street Fighter 2 and 3, so you have to adjust in order to play well. That's not to say that you don't need precision, but there definitely is a bit more leeway depending on the game and the setup. Phil is just a sloppy player overall. His technique is seemingly quite poor. If you listen to his gamepad, it really sounds like he's just slapping buttons haphazardly. When he clearly flubs a block, he'll blame it on the network connectivity or input lag when really it's because he mistimed the block frames or something equally sloppy.

Depends on the game in question. Street Fighter 4 had a lot of weird ways you could manipulate frames, most notably plinking, and through some peculiar quirk, you could use this technique with the back or select button depending on your controller to manipulate it further. A quick googling suggests doubletaps are a thing for all street fighters, but I'm going to strongly doubt Phil actually double taps anything and instead just mashes repeatedly.

Yeah, and further to that, there are elements all over the story when he first told it that push against the narrative that they were already broken up, not the least of which is that Phil framed the largest issues, the medical bills, as something he was going to be on the hook for. Saying they were already broken up came much later, and Phil tried to use it to spin things in a favourable light (he was such a nice guy for letting her use the car even after they ended!), when it actually makes him look worse (sharing with his audience is even more suspect in that scenario, and he was lying by insinuating he was on the hook for the bill).

From what we know with the fake engagement ring incident, I think they were completely on the rocks, but Phil proposing delayed the inevitable. It wasn't going well again by the time the hospital visit happened, but they were still together. When Leanna found out Phil told the story on stream, that was what triggered her to leave 'in a huff'. It makes sense that something this shitty would provoke that reaction, and it makes sense that this would be the last straw, since this was finally Phil actively being a piece of shit, rather than just passively being shitty.

We're really hitting peak Phil with the vests when he resents having to wear a vest for less than an hour for a $50/hour night stream salary, and resents the choice his audience make for which vest they would like to see for that $50/hour salary. It's really just highlighting how lazy, ungrateful and controlling he is if even this is being blown into an issue. Why do all the vests suddenly need to be getting equal time? If that's a factor, why are there so many? He needs an exit strategy before he loses his mind over this.

This was one of my favorite parts of his 'DEBUNKING 7 YEARS of SLANDER' video where he tries to revisionist history that whole affair.
He said "In REALITY she GAVE ME PERMISSION to tell that story! But AGAIN, people just want to believe the LIES & SLANDER without getting the real story from me!"
Then the only """Permission""" he references is a heavily doped up Leanna, in between arriving home from the hospital and immediately passing out, saying "Huh, you're probably going to go tell your whole stream about this now, huhn?"

He follows up this gem of social retardation by trying to DEBUNK his "If this EVER happens again YOU DO NOT have permission to take her to the hospital! Just give her a pill and leave her there!" by saying "We weren't even together at the time! HOW WOULD I HAVE ENFORCED THAT?!?"

Real smooth Phil, you totally weren't together at the time and had been broken up for months. . .except you asked her to marry you and she said 'Yes' on April 9th, long AFTER you claim to have broken up, and on multiple occasions during the 'Leanna's Medical Emergency' story on May 14th you were very concerned about how various things might affect "the rest of your lives together", so either you were still engaged or had very, very recently broken up an you were still living in a delusional "She'll come back, mommy can't leave me" fantasy.

Also in this video he lies about having had the engagement ring for years when they had just recently gotten whatever Leanna picked out off Etsy after Phil's February 26th 'Fake Engagement Ring' stream meltdown.
He goes on a long rant about how detractors prevented them from getting engaged for 3 years because you can't get engaged unless you spend thousands on a vacation to Disneyland and ask her there.
But of course he can't marry Leanna because he has no money. It's not like he can get married in his mother's chain-smoke filled living room in an old suit with his bride wearing a $20 potato-sack in Walgreen's make-up his mother caked on her while his mother's 6 cats watch.
