Wasn't this confirmed quite a while back? When it was announced on uhh... E3? PAX? Where-ever it was announced last year, they had quite a sizeable EGS logo on it.Welp. They poached Chivalry II.

Wasn't Chiv II also widely panned and long rendered obsolete by the fact Mordhau exists?I never actually heard about it. Then again, visiting the subreddit and seeing the utterly anemic levels of engagement (6 day old post asking "why is this subreddit dead" still on the front page) I think I know why. wewlad

Until and unless they manage to burn enough money to overtake Tencent's shares, this changes precisely fuck-all for the customers (at best). Not that I think Sony would do a damn thing different than the chinks, but that's not the point.Sony has invested $250 million into Epic. They now have 1.4 percent stake.

And for those wondering, yes this does go completely against what Tim Sweeney was talking about as recently as yesterday.Psyonix said:![]()
After nearly five years, millions of players, and billions of soccar matches played, it's time to talk about the next chapter of Rocket League. The game wouldn't be where it is today without our dedicated and amazing community. Today, we're excited to announce that we're gearing up to make that community even bigger. Beginning later this summer, Rocket League is going free to play!
What does this mean for the Rocket League gameplay you know and love? The core gameplay will remain the same, but we are refining the main menus to make exploring the game easier. Plus, we’re revamping and improving major features like Tournaments and Challenges, and introducing cross-platform progression! Rocket League action on the field will still be the same core, high-octane hybrid of sports and action you love today, and soon, even more players will share that love. That begins with Rocket League's release on its newest platform: the Epic Games Store.
Rocket League will release on the Epic Games Store on PC the same time it goes free to play. This version of the game will be identical to the version found on other platforms, and will feature cross-platform play anywhere you play Rocket League, including between the Epic Games Store and Steam.
Once Rocket League goes free to play, anyone who already owns Rocket League on any platform (including Steam) will be able to play and enjoy the game with full support for future updates and features. However, the Steam version will no longer be available to download for new players. To put it simply, wherever you play now (including Steam), you'll still be able to play in the future.
Anyone who has played Rocket League online before the launch of free to play will be rewarded with Legacy status, which includes:
In addition, if you've played online before this announcement, you will also receive the Faded Cosmos Boost. Legacy rewards will be granted once the free to play version launches later this summer. Check out the items in the slideshow below!
- All Rocket League-branded DLC released before free to play
- "Est. 20XX" title that displays the first year you played Rocket League
- 200+ Common items upgraded to "Legacy" quality
- Golden Cosmos Boost
- Dieci-Oro Wheels
- Huntress Player Banner
You may be wondering what will happen to the hard-earned inventory that you've unlocked over the years. Don’t worry, it will still be available to you when free to play goes live! Plus we’re introducing cross-platform progression with free to play, and you'll be able to bring items, Rocket Pass progress, and your Competitive Rank to every platform where you play Rocket League, thanks to an Epic Games Account. There's a lot more to share about that, so stay tuned in the coming months.
There will be plenty more to reveal as we get closer to Rocket League's free to play launch, like new features, content, and the cross-platform progression we mentioned above, so be sure to follow us on Twitter and visit RocketLeague.com for the latest updates. We'd like to thank everyone in our community for your continued support as we approach this milestone, and we're looking forward to introducing our game to a whole new audience!
And yes, if my last sentence didn't tip you off earlier: no, Epic Games Store still doesn't have a shopping cart.

Possibly late, but after Tripwire sold out and Killing Floor 2 got published on Epic, Steam players are forced to run datamining Epic APIs to start Solo/Multi games. Devs and their shill mob are on damage control mode.

Sidenote: It's kinda weird how they had that announcement up and ready the minute they broke Apple/Google's ToS.#FREEFORTNITE

Apple has blocked Fortnite from the App Store, removing everyone’s ability to install and update the game on iOS devices, while instructing Epic to “remove the ‘Epic direct payment’ feature”. Apple is keeping prices high so they can collect 30% of your payments, and is blocking Fortnite in order to prevent Epic from passing on the savings from direct payments to you! Epic has taken legal action to end Apple’s anti-competitive restrictions on mobile device marketplaces. The papers are available here.
Fortnite remains available on Google Play, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, GeForce Now, and the Epic Games app on Android. Your account, progression, and purchases also remain available on these platforms.
Because Apple has BLOCKED your ability to update, when Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 4 releases you will NOT be able to play the new Season on iOS. Make your voice heard with #FreeFortnite
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why can’t I access Fortnite on iOS?
Apple is blocking your ability to get the latest Fortnite updates! All players should have a choice in payment providers and save up to 20%. Apple wants to limit your payment choices! Join the fight against @AppStore on social with #FreeFortnite
I only play on iOS devices. How can I regain access to Fortnite if I only play on iOS devices?
Make your voice heard in the fight against the app tax! Message @AppStore using #FreeFortnite on social. All players should have a choice in payment providers and save up to 20%. Apple disagrees!
Will there be any account issues if I continue to play Fortnite’s 13.40 update on my iOS device while also playing subsequent updates on other devices?
If you already downloaded Fortnite via the App Store, you should have no issues continuing to play Chapter 2 - Season 3’s 13.40 update -- whether you’re only playing on mobile devices or also playing the latest version of Fortnite on other devices.
Once Chapter 2 - Season 4 begins, players accessing Fortnite will still be able to play the 13.40 version of Fortnite, but will not be able to access any new content or the new Battle Pass.
How do I get a refund if I’ve spent money on Fortnite and can’t access my purchases because of the Apple blockade?
Unfortunately, Apple doesn’t allow Epic Games to directly refund players for iOS purchases and instead requires players to ask Apple for a refund. Please follow these instructions to ask Apple for a refund: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204084
Why doesn’t Epic capitulate to Apple’s demand to remove Epic direct payment?
Epic believes that you have a right to save money thanks to using more efficient, new purchase options. Apple’s rules add a 30% tax on all of your purchases, and they punish game developers like us who offer direct payment options.

Epic Games has filed a "non-profit" lawsuit in order to break up Google/Apple's monopoly on the tech industry after Fortnite was banned from both iOS and Android storefronts, and are trying to gain support under the hashtag, #FreeFortnite.
It's really a shame because the game is pretty good and it has a lot of replayability but making it a one-year exclusive killed the game.
It's absolute nonsense. Apple Store would be crazy to allow every malware manufacturer on them to allow monetary transactions for god knows what purposes. As if gacha isn't bad enough. They just want to be able to funnel money directly to themselves, as if anyone wants to do that. Apple will probably argue this effectively means they have to allow criminals and Chinese spies on their network freely to do whatever they like.
Trump should shut Epic down for being chink-owned.
