We usually say we are going to try the ”curly girl method, ” which means the same thing-even though there are specific products to use and an actual method. That doesn't mean we’ll do it though, we’re just going to let our hair be natural: no more heat, fake hair, extensions sewn in and a style for our type. Trust me, as a white girl with ethnic hair, if I mention I want to go natural I get looks and one time got called out. So the curly girl method gets us around offending anyone.
This may be powerlevel, but the actual method, or not using it, doesn't work for my hair type, and a professional blowout is the only way to get that tight wave out of my thick, tight waved waist length hair. Nothing I have works, and it takes at least an hour to dry and I can't get the waves out myself. (and they aren't even so it has to be straight) I'm even tempted to buy a MFer expensive Dyson dryer and iron to see if it helps. (pm me if you have one and can tell me) Corona has caused me a problem as I walk around looking crazy like a lion. Mostly, I'm wearing it up 99 percent of the time although it gives me a headache. Fortunately, few people see these days.../pl
I know for a fact Tess does not have hair like I do. No wave, no texture, no one strand curling up and the one next to it deciding ”not today”, no coiled waves...she has smooth ”good hair.”
And black women are techy about this, as I innocently found out, it's cultural appropriation, so she should tread lightly...
