Disenchantment Is definitely worth a watch, I know the reviews are mostly middling to lukewarm, but any Hardcore Simpsonstards who STILL Bitch on about the shows decline In Qualities should really just Throw In the Towel pining for a 'Renaissance' for the show. Post Season 30 now, Matt Groening Just wants to focus his sublime talents Into new ideas and fans should open their minds up to the series, as the series has some of the best visuals for a Netflix Series and offers an Interesting and compelling Medieval style world with writing that rivals the best episodes of Futurama at times. Seriously Simpsons fans could benefit from Investing their time more In those 2 shows with the current meandering state of Foxes biggest yellow Cash Cow.

I actually thought some of the #bettercartoon ideas were rather interesting. The real problem is that none of them would actually work as a replacement for the Ren and Stimpy reboot on Comedy Central's planned block.

To be fair, many of the pitches aren’t intended to replace Ren and Stimpy, they’re intended to show there’s more original ideas out there...by blatantly ripping off SU and Owl House.

Seriously, it’s the overconfidence that gets to me; some rando artists give a pitch and proceed to think they’re hot shit. In reality, anyone can pitch an idea and it takes time and effort to make that idea worthwhile. Even the better pitches still need a lot of work to make for a watchable series.

Doesn’t help that the tag came off as spiteful, hypocritical and “crabs in a bucket“, tainting the well so to speak.

I do enjoy the irony in that post; the petition claims that the reboot will endanger fans and crew when professional animators and their fanatics are the ones trying to get a show others are working on cancelled, potentially threatening dozens of jobs in a niche market. I have a feeling she saw the writing on the wall when she saw news articles saying that Broadway theaters will stay closed for a year or more due to the coof and decided it just wasn't worth it. Or she actually started doing research into live-action shite, saw that it's a COMPLETELY different beast to what she's used to, and came to the same conclusion.

That said, the petition WAS started by Robyn Byrd so there's a slim chance that it might end up doing better than the Racebending nonsense did for The Last Airbender.

I think that's what I really don't understand, they saw for a 10th anniversary DVD but not a 20th?

Piracy can be sketchy when it comes to quality though, I'm perfectly willing to spend money to get the best quality... provided were not talking 400-500$

I just wish it wasn't that absurdly expensive, even something around 100$ would still be doable, but not that much.

Apparently throughout this pandemic animation has been doing a lot better than live-action because live-action requires multiple actors to appear on the same set whereas animators can just continue to work from home. Although "a lot better" is probably in a relative sense because the actual animation itself is outsourced to some studio in Korea or wherever that I don't believe is open at the moment.

If Sugar wants to continue the success(?) she's had in her career, she should consider getting to work on that Steven Universe spin-off starring townie #6187 or whatever.
