Out of all the absurd shit he said during his rant earlier, the thing that makes me laugh the hardest (and he does this fairly often) is when he compares his current self to how he was “way back in 2014!”
DSP seems to imply that he was just an naïve kid during those times, and just didn’t have enough life experience to make sound decisions, or give “mature” commentary without pathetically unfunny and constant sex jokes. We shouldn’t judge him because he was just a dumb, ignorant kid who just flat out didn’t know what he was doing!
And then you remember that Phil was 32 goddamn years old in 2014.
Phil is perfectly okay with playing the “I was just a kid!” card for things he did in his early thirties. This really shows DSP’s arrested development. It’s like, in his head he sees himself ten to fifteen years younger than he actually is, and doesn’t have the self-awareness to realize that well-adjusted 38 year-olds don’t behave this way.
Anyways... what a hilarious rant that was. Another hilarious moment was earlier in his rant, he asked the chat something like “Guys what do you think? Would you have rather seen me sell out and be some kind of cartoon character? Or do you prefer the awesome, honest, real streamer I am today?” And he stared at his chat for twenty seconds (desperately seeking validation) and the vast majority of his chat just wasn’t buying his bullshit. He sees this and just goes “Well, nobody seems to be paying attention so I’m just gonna go back to playing the game!”
My god, he’s just so pathetic.
