Often their excuse is that it's not like the police act like bodyguards, so they won't be around to actively stop the mugging or the home intrusion.
They forget that one of the main things the police do is investigate murders, which is one of the big incentives those muggers and intruders have for not just killing you. Easier to take stuff off of dead bodies, after all.

Police also investigates muggings and brake ins too. While these lesser priorities than a murder it still happens and even these criminals can get caught. Generally the investigation and paperwork is way larger part of even basic police work than people realize and all that work more uses than just getting people arrested. For example we all know about the rioting excuse of "they have insurance", well that insurance often needs police to comfirm that something bad happened and take statement or insurance company will not pay. The courts don't take a cop's word about an incident more seriously than a layman's just because they are cops. It's also all documentation they have to do. Evidence isn't just collected, it's also recorded and there has to be a paper trail of where and when has been and who has handeled it. This isn't perfect of course but does make it harder for a cop to lie and get away with it. This is why most cops love body cameras, it takes alot presure off from getting enough evidence of who did what and when.

I would assume that short wide skirt like cheerleaders or figure skaters wear could work out fine but lets face it they tend to be just peace of fabric top of pants bearly covering both butt cheaks. Main function being to look femine and emphasize movent, not very practical in real life unless you like doing pantyshots. Generally most normal daily skirts aren't best for sports let alone those longer summer dresses.

It's one thing to take up a hobby ( like skateboarding) later in life and go "oh shit this is fun, I should have started this years ago" and another to pretend like you we're Tranny Hawk the whole time. Like hell I wish I was half as with it and as confident as I am now when I was 14, but no amount of projecting my current self on my past will change the fact I was a gangly anime and martial arts nerd.
This projection of the current on the past is a big problem in the trans community ( and with the woke SJW community as a whole).
