I know i might be fuming with rage at the stupidity of that idiotic chick and the subsequent idiocy of Bob, and i know they just do it because all this things today are a given compared to how they were enormous advancements in their respective fields when they were discovered. But do these brainlets honestly think that the ancient greeks were cavemen that just caved in each other's skulls? They laid enormous amounts of groundwork for math, science, astrology and philosophy because they did enormous amounts of work. Would Bob be amazed at them if he knew the fact that they discovered that Jupiter and Saturn were planets with telescopes that would equate to modern binoculars? Would he acknowledge their efforts if he knew that it was thanks to them that we know the theory of the communicating glasses?

Of course not. Bob needs awesome sci fi modern discoveries for him to actually say they are good. He needs hydroponics, robotics and moon wheat, rather than actually useful things like sparkling water, beer, crop rotation or the number 0. But at least he would agree with Plato on the fact that the people should be ruled by a "select group of the most capable" since the masses don't know what is good for them.

Kansas is only similar to New York in that, in the same way as California/Texas, Kansas is a literal petri dish for the right/neocons to basically test out policies they then import to other states (same with Texas) ala how the left use New York and California to test out ultra-liberal policies.
