Is this a Trump plant? He is singlehandedly giving Trump his justification for reelection.

I've always wondered. Why is Election DAY only 1 day? Why not a few days or a week? You can even start it the Wednesday before so the week still ends on the traditional Tuesday.

If it HAS to be one day for some reason, why not make it a federal holiday so people that work can vote easier? I mean, I think legally employers have to allow employees to go on break so they can vote, but realistically most of the hourly service jobs won't allow for it and just come up with some other excuse.

Or, maybe this is a bad idea, just make Election Day and Veterans Day the same day so people already have the day off?

I thought it was some kind of tradition on America but instead of 1 day i always wondered why you people do it in the middle of the week when everyone is working

It is a tradition. Looking it up, Wikipedia says this:

By 1792, federal law permitted each state to choose Presidential electors any time within a 34-day period[2] before the first Wednesday in December.[3] A November election was convenient because the harvest would have been completed but the most severe winter weather, impeding transportation, would not yet have arrived, while the new election results also would roughly conform to a new year. Originally, states varied considerably in the method of choosing electors. Gradually, states converged on selection by some form of popular vote.

Development of the Morse electric telegraph, funded by Congress in 1843 and successfully tested in 1844, was a technological change that clearly augured an imminent future of instant communication nationwide.[4] To prevent information from one state from influencing Presidential electoral outcomes in another, Congress responded in 1845 by mandating a uniform national date for choosing Presidential electors.[1] Congress chose the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November to harmonize current electoral practice with the existing 34-day window in federal law, as the span between Election Day and the first Wednesday in December is always 29 days.[5] The effect is to constrain Election Day to the week between November 2 and November 8 inclusive. Beginning with Presidential elections, gradually all states brought nearly all elections into conformity with this date.

Apparently, it is also only one day "to prevent information from one state influencing electoral outcomes in another", which made sense in the 1840s.

How liberal is Oregon, outta curiosity? Because something this brazen could only come from a position of complete security in their future. Does the mayor really think Portlanders haven't noticed who's been doing the burning in the city center for months? Because shit like this has been going on for a while, and there's only like 12 black people in the city anyway...

IMO I think one day is better because the short amount of time available to vote and tabulate prevents entrenched powers from being able to effectively ‘peek and adjust’, so to say. Not that it has stopped them from trying, but I think the short amount of time is a barrier to some extent.

Posted this in the Riots thread too, but the comments give me hope for humanity. At little.

Can't wait for the dems to freak the fuck out when they figure out Oregon is going red only a week or two before the election. And then flounder as they fail to try and stop it. This isn't ending well for the left. I think Oregon goes red this year or in 2024.
For those who are concerned about the potential of voter/election fraud impacting this race... I am pretty sure Trump has something planned or is already conducting plans to make this potential scenario almost impossible, and that he will unleash it at the right time.

Have faith.
Imma agree with you. Like, Trump knows what's up. He's aware of the potential. He's just waiting for the Dems to get too cocky and announce some shit about how vote by mail is definitely happening and then Trump springs some shit on them that he's got top men in the swing states and blue strongholds making sure nothing fucky happens. Or makes up some controverys and springs an EO into action to prevent VBM from happening this year while no one is looking.

You're guys with the rainbows are acting like Trump is a retard. He's aware and working on it. There's alot going on. Government is slow sometimes. I mean, the FBI just took out a bunch of antifa operatives today. It take time my dudes.

e: you don't tell your enemy what your plans are. You move in position and wait to spring the trap. Trump won't tell the public what these plans are to prevent voter fraud until its too late for the dems to do anything. We won't hear about it until a few days or a week or so from election day.

Not to get off topic, but what is this...

I swear, the left is completely deluded sometimes.
Shit like this should be declared an in-kind donation to the DNC.
William Binney is currently making a stink about how there's pretty hard proof that the Russian hoax is a hoax. If you don't know who he is, look him up.
Disappointing in Chris Hedges for jumping on Russiagate. Proving to be a useful shibbolith, though.
And to think evil clown movie was only 10 months ago..
(:_(

They can try that, but it doesn't help when grampy keeps telling people "Elect me and I'll shut everything down again."
Or that they're saying they'll immediately enact a nationwide mask mandate the second after they take power in late January 2021 and it's still only August 2020. "God willing, it won't be forever", sure whatever, Kamela. You'd drag it on forever just to boss the plebs around and micromanage everyone's lives to death.

I can't believe they're doubling down on this. :story:

Kamala Harris promises national mask mandate if elected

The weird thing is that if they win, they don't actually take power until mid-January. So they are basically running on a platform that Corona restrictions will be happening for at least six months and probably longer (until a vaccine is distributed is my guess.)

I mean, I knew this, but they are just flat out saying it now.

Like Biden announcing he would institute another lockdown. Again, the inaugeration is five months away.

Edit: @UselessIdiot ninja'ed me.

Six mayors in the Iron Range of Minnesota (A notoriously blue area) just threw their weight behind Trump for the 2020 election. All of those towns are in the "arrowhead" of the blue region, meaning that Trump jumped deep into the Democratic territory to pull support from the mayors in these towns. It's not as impressive as taking Duluth, but that's definitely interesting.

I feel like there's a lot of Blue states in play this year.

Minnesota. Oregon.

I can't find the poll myself, so this is probably bullshit, but it's interesting at least. And I had to leave the meme in.

How much do you want to bet that Antifags are prepping to go to these towns and start trying to start shit in the next 24 hours for daring to support orange man
