Will Dave flat out say that he doesn't give a shit about vests and his fans just need to pay him $100 per stream minimum?

Maybe instead of having a reward like the vest for reaching a $100 he should punish his viewers if they don't reach $100. Delay the next stream by only doing pre-stream garbage until the deficit is collected and then still expect $100 for the rest of that stream.

His paypigs like to be abused, I don't see why this wouldn't work and be seen by Dave as a fun, pahsitive stream experience.

Yeah I think he's not far off it. The guy is particularly miserable about his situation. Those minutes where he's forced to go overtime, despite his schedule and persistent begging clearly hurt him. Perhaps it's that autistic tendency clinging to routine, or effectively allowing chat to call the shots of when he gets to clock off. Whatever it is, over the last few days the vest tipped from being a pahsitive thing in his mind into a detractor meme, so it's not long for this world. Soon to join the sonic hat.

The danger from is perspective is that he's raised expectations with this gimmick and now people won't donate unless it's replaced by some equally stupid reward.

He already did way back, when he created the tips goal.
Originally, he said having a tips goal 'with no point' was 'disingenuous'.

Then the tip goal became a regular thing as Phil claimed that was what he needed to stay afloat each month during his pre-bankruptcy barrage of daily bills. However, when people called him out based on his earlier statement, Phil semantic'd that the goal was just a suggestion so that people knew what he needed and there should be no reward for hitting it because helping him by hitting the goal was a reward in and of itself. Anyone asking for something was being selfish and demanding. It'd be interesting if, as you suggested, Phil tries to pivot away from the vest and back to this narrative to see if he can get the money for nothing. However, it didn't work and he rarely hit that goal... so I think he knows that'll have to be a last resort since it's unlikely to yield the money. They need some autistic carrot to pursue.

I think post-streak we're going to get a bit of gold dust as Phil considers restarting the streak and then gets frustrated faster, fumbles around looking for some new gimmick that will replicate the results of the vest, and probably freaks out on his audience for not knowing what they want to see before finally retconning the vest into something he thought was stupid but that his whales and vest-obsessed OiC forced him to do.

Phil has spent years arguing both that detractors are so jealous of his success that they lie constantly to try to ruin his life AND that he desperately needs money for bills/taxes/accountants/debt (and in fact he has actually gone bankrupt).

Those two ideas are only compatible in DSP's paranoid mind.

Thinking "this time will be different!" is how people around here and elsewhere whip themselves into a frenzy every single time there's a hiccup in Phil's life and start convincing themselves that they're about to witness The Fall. Then inevitably the speed bump passes and Phil continues on his merry way. I'm not telling you how to live your life but from experience I can say that keeping your expectations to the floor and bring surprised is much more entertaining than trying to call when Phil is going to be finished, and you run almost no risk of posting MOTI when he comes out clean on the other side.

Stop trying to see the end of the ride and just enjoy it instead.

I'm not saying it's going to end, I'm saying he's moved to a different schema of the grift, one that will not play to his inability to use any type of subtlety. Basically the withering on the vine of the patreon that people have documented will now be thoroughly in play on a long enough timeline with his current bread and butter, crowdfunding. Yes, he will go down to his massive stroke that kills him with Rob or whoever like that still standing by him to the bitter end, but it's going to be an era where either he makes his daily tips goal and actually has to deliver on his promises (how's Project 7 merch selling these days for a preview of how Phil delivers on that front?) or risk awakening more and more of his whales as the streak continues to climb. Alternatively he has the streak end and has to publicly take another loss inflicted to his ego, which is not a specialty lolcows are capable of providing generally and Phil especially isn't good at. (Do we have a count of late night not recorded for the youtube archive whale calls yet because it's becoming a nightly thing three times a week now at least...) Either way, he's left squirming while making money while attempting to claim tax related poverty or he's left squirming due to not making his goal of at least 200 a day funneled to his paypal account, this is what I define as a win/win and the best part is it only costs me the price of my internet bill to watch along and I don't even need a business class internet connection to do so.

I don't think it's a matter of them not caring how much he makes and how he lives, it's that they are incapable of understanding what something like a $25k vest streak or $120k a year or $150k in debt relief means in real world terms and impact.

Some of them are incapable, at least without a change to their mental context, of understanding that, some are capable and just don't care because they really like Phil, but some of them are capable of realizing this if explained to them or they bother to look into it, and that is where you'll see the gradual bleeding of support as more of those types are awakened through whatever means it takes to get them there now that income and expenses, assets and liabilities, aka Phil Burnell's balance sheet, is laid out in whatever form they come to understand it.

I've been having a little fun noting the length of Phil's prestream segments for a week or so now. Poor dood's been struggling to pad-er, fill out the run time to the iconic 2 hours. His speedrun strats for the upcoming schedule are getting too good, even when he rambles about plans for next month...

I eagerly await Phil's future boast that his game play streams have extended by 30 minutes... and then complain that his ungrateful audience isn't satisfied with the extra raw khantent.

Uh, you typed this when next month was literally the start of next week on the calendar though...maybe the overtimes for Paper Mario to not kill the vest streak is being generated from the shortened prestreams in Phil's mind?

In my opinion any of DSP’s paypigs should be starved of oxygen here. They are a dime a dozen. Unless we get some juicy drama, doxx, or we find out they’re a fucking pedophile what’s the point of giving them the time of day? The negative attention they receive here probably get their little dicks hard as fuck.

The salt from Mr. Papaveracea/Preston getting doxed was funny, at least to me. Ali Rapp's wall of shame was always amazing to me that same way too so I'm biased towards that kind of saga.

That's funny, my mind went first to Damian but I guess I'm a Grant Morrison fag. Mind you love DKR too but it's sort of non-canon isn't it? That's another question I'd like to ask Phil "Who's your favorite comic writer?". He'd probably knock it right in to the cheap seats and say "Alan Moore" (don't get me wrong Moore is good, but he's an easy choice and he's like the main writer a wanna-be hipster and contrarian who views himself as above the common rabble would cite).

Phil can absolutely blame the end of the vest streak on me if he wants to. I would love to be deemed responsible for the biggest shitstorm since the Bankruptcy Arc ended, and all without having to do a fucking thing.

It's just like with the Sonic hat. DSP might just have the thinnest skin on the planet, he can't handle people laughing at him even when it leads to him making a wage most people with his total lack of experience would kill for. We ended the vest streak just like we ruined his life: by laughing at him and pointing out how silly he looks.

If his paypigs were any smart they would let OIC save the vest every stream. He gets off seeing Phil sweat, hint hint, harping on his audience that there's 1 hour left, then 50 minutes, 40, 30, 20, 15,10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2 minutes like last night.

He's not a true and hahnest wheelchair like Rahb or Blaine; his only pleasure is to give the pig a couple apples to make him comfortable (subs bombs); then he starves the pig and enjoys making him beg for his last minute full meal.

I can't fully predict a scenario where DSP will fully antagonize OIC once the support stops, probably when he's gonna get tired of wasting this amount of cash on him, but we all know what pigs can do (wow), especially this one.

Thanks for the free pigroach subscription OIC, the only people you are pissing off atm are your relatives that will inherit what could have been a sizeable share of cash upon your death that you instead decided to use to jerk off watching a 38 year old scammer getting slighlty annoyed at you for tipping late.
