I read about this earlier in the week. Apparently there was a WalkAway rally in Dallas, a small group of BLM folks showed up and tried to get to the speakers/stage/something. The BLM guy with the megaphone and WalkAway security got into it (security guy was trying to move him away, BLM guy pressed his fist against security guy’s throat for a bit, security guy eventually smacked him down), cops were called, security guy was arrested/detained, BLM guy moved away and was arrested around the corner. While being arrested, he told them to “call Chief Harris”. Haven't seen anything about WHY he said that but then most things I could find don’t even mention the BLM guy being arrested.

What was the kid doing that prompted her to call the police? Why did she know of the Police CIT? What’s the history there?

Apparently he was having a "psychological episode and threatened people with a weapon". While it could be true, it's not that uncommon to lie about an encounter with the mentally ill if it goes south, or for the police to rough up someone having an episode.

The statement doesn't seem that odd to me, it's really weird that he got shot but it's reasonable to believe that a caretaker or mother would call the cops on her autistic or otherwise mentally ill/disabled son as a punishment for yelling or mouthing off. You see it often enough when you work with vulnerable populations.

The real brilliance was not the initial breakup (though setting the tone as they did was an important part of the plan) but the followup forced march across the city for around an hour with bike cops blocking roadways they didn't want protesters on so SPD had control of the crowd the entire time.

Nobody had time to do anything damaging lest they fall behind and get immediately arrested, and the protesters who hadn't fucked off earlier were exhausted by the end and basically collapsed in a park after that.

Consequently, that was about all that happened that day in Seattle.

My personal opinion is that this was the best strategy for diffusing an antifa riot I've yet seen.

I don't know how well it will work on jogger dominant riots but for the pasty shield lines it worked a treat.

Amy also was indicted on misdemeanor charges of assaulting a man who tried to retrieve the hat, attempting to assault his mother, and offensive touching of the boy.
