Phil just stated people need to get 'conditioned' to tips not popping up. Great choice of words. Not a cult leader at all.
Now he's begging for tips.... but wait!
He's begging for tips to buy all the games he needs to buy in the next month. He just listed them all. He says this will be over $1000. So he really needs support.
After saying this, he said tips help him the most today because of the chargebacks from the previous weeks, and Twitch doesn't pay him for another 2 days. Now he has money in his account currently, and it is the money that has been tipped to him over this last weekend. Not the week. The weekend. And he needs this to afford his haircut and other appointments tomorrow.
So he is preloading the begging for after he gets his Twitch payday, while then saying that he just needs money to hold him over until his Twitch payday, and meanwhile, about $500 in tips this week just disappeared and only the weekend tips count, but after Twitch pays him, he'll have no money for games (despite the payday including $3000 in cheers). He really thinks his audience are so stupid that they can't see contradictory statements when they are 15 seconds apart. This is probably the most nonsensical, casual lying I've seen him pull. Normally there is at least a bit of a cooldown between statements like this.
For those predicting those $3000 in cheers were going to get memoryholed, they are indeed now deleted from memory. Someone needs to ask him if those ended up being legit after his payday.
