Writing >10,000 posts in English (and reading a similar number in reply) is virtually guaranteed to improve language skills in a non-native speaker.

Umm, not that I ask for this a lot, but do you have any evidence beyond this? Because I've been writing and reading English for more than 15 years, I doubt this affected me a lot.

You have some strange conceptions of everything else.
They're called being able to think outside of modern insanity.

the other is a "it's just so" claim that makes sex into something you need to be smart and mature for, which is nonsense and merely liberal conditioning.
That's some absurd reasoning Holden.

Which is why you're running this place the way you do - like that North Korean guy, only twice as delusional.
I have yet to see Null use anti-aircraft guns to silence dissidents (If another trans-thread gets derailed, all bets are off...)

Hahaha, what? If you're gonna try puerile insults like these that don't even make sense try telling them to somebody who still believes in concepts like "should".
Okay, what does this even mean? I'm not surprised that you didn't like my comment, but how is the word "should" a concept? How do you not believe in "should"? You are constantly describing the way you think the world should be, or describing a sane society, or whatever. I.e., you've argued multiple times that the age of consent should be lowered to 12. Or are you just being a tryhard edgelord and don't actually understand what the words you use mean?

Spoiler alert: it's probably the last one.

This only proves your lack of any reasoning and debating skills. My claim was never that SH is a large part of the internet. You do know that there are many incels who don't post on incel sites, eh? My point was simply that SH has a lot of users who completely fit the sickening modern culture and are still incel. So that plus the fact that I met many incels who weren't aware of the term at the moment is what brings me to this conclusion, based on inductive reasoning.

Looks like your days away you might have glanced at a book on informal logic. But you still get it wrong. You said "incel was prevalent". Prevalent mean "widespread", "Common", "Universal" or "prevailing". That means for something to be prevalent, it has to be common, or prevailing over other things. We know incel is not these, again it is not even a blip on the radar when looking at human population irl or on the internet.

I will give you one thing, Diamond Jack - I am not quite familiar with umad's ideas and jumped the gun on that. But from what I've read from OmegaKV his views on prime age of women, life being basically about access to women and rape (if it was him on this last issue) are absolutely reasonable and anybody sane (sadly, not the majority) will see him and me as reasonable

That's only true if you redefine the word "reasonable" and "sane". Which you do. So, there's that.

and you as an oversocialized deranged person who'd believe that the age of consent should be 40 if only the society claimed so.

There you go again doing what you tell other people not to do, make claims about what others are thinking. Can you read minds? No? Then stop building strawmen and introducing red herrings.

You're telling me that a 13 year old girl understands all the nuances of a sexual relationship? That's absurd Holden

Holden doesn't care that the girl understands what she's getting herself into. He only cares that she has a vagina. That's about all the nuance that Holden thinks goes into sex.

Almost any woman can "get more" than almost any man. So this attack is hilarious. It's like saying that a fish is better at swimming than I am. Really?
Re-read the sentence and look at the context, the term 'gets more' was used to describe a deeper understanding rather than the acquisition of sex.

I have a Trinity College Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. No, I'm not posting it b/c dox.

I'll go and have a look when I have more time, but I believe your use of tenses and articles has certainly improved since your earlier postings.

When teaching I favour a model of building fluency rather than accuracy. As a young child, you listened to your native language. When you were ready to begin speaking, your language use was not accurate. Without conscious effort, you heard accurate language and you began to correct your own mistakes until you spoke accurately yourself.

It's the same with a second language. If you can produce (speak or write) fluently and you are exposed to correct language use, you will start to self-correct. Thus, spending a lot of time producing a second language will naturally lead to greater accuracy.

Fluency is not an end in itself but a critical gateway to comprehension.

A solid question. My point is that it is pretty senseless to think about "should" in any way but brief explanations. What "should" happen is what you make happen. Otherwise it is just fantasies.

Most people don't understand nuances of anything ever. This is not necessary.

I disagree. There are many different kinds of experts. Just because you don't have much sexual experience doesn't mean its not important or necessary.

Yeah, but you don't think it's gross to have sex with someone who's basically a kid?

Also, I've lifted all your account restrictions. I don't think they're necessary anymore.
