Lucas strikes me as the type who would get insanely jealous of a woman giving any attention to a pet, because that means her attention isn't 100% on him. He'd be mean to or abuse the animal as a way to punish her for daring to give anything else her attention & affection.

The only thing I remember Lucas saying in a video is he was in therapy since he was 8 yrs old. He didn't say anything about being medicated during childhood/teen years. I think it was in his late teens/early 20's? when the mental illness really started manifesting.
Yepppp lmao. And it’s literally like he forgot that he had ASKED for advice! As soon as he was reminded he liked all of the other poster’s comments and calmed way down. He is so Fucking stupid and horrible.
He also at one point said “why else would I be in college if not to find better friends?” And he said it in his super condescending, “you motherfucking idiot” tone lmao. Like dude most people’s MAIN reason for going to college is to learn, get a degree, and better their lives. While many people do meet their SOs and/or good friends in college, I’ve never known a single person for whom that was the reason they went to college.
This is the way that I always explain Lucas to people. He is severely mentally ill and that sucks. That is not his fault. People there are plenty of people who are mentally ill, even to the extent that Lucas is, who aren’t horrible people. I know someone personally who is severely schizophrenic and has never received any treatment for it because he lives with his family and they will not admit that he is sick, just that he is “weird”. He has extreme audio and visual hallucinations and believes that he sees aliens almost constantly. And he’s a perfectly pleasant person. I feel bad for him, but I truly like him because he is a kind and gentle man, who happens to be sick. There are lots of sick people who don’t use their sicknesses to become the absolute worst person they possibly can be.
The shit he says about having kids is a whole other level of insanity. He says babies are “so easy to take care of” and you can just leave them in a room as long as you keep them fed. Hate to break it to the giant baby that is lucas but that’s not how it works with actual babies — just because he stays alive in a room as long as he has food, that isn’t how babies are. I’ve tried on multiple occasions to explain to him that having kids, even just one kid, is a HUGE amount of work, from when they are babies until when they’re teenagers and likely even beyond that but he of course won’t hear it.
That may have been what I was referring to and misremembered. Though he may have said both.
I hate this fucking bullshit, the veil of dishonesty that pervades all social services. Nobody can just say we're presiding over absolute fucking misery that will never, ever get better and there's nothing we can do. We can alleviate a bit of that misery, but how do we budget to do that in the most effective way, knowing almost all of the misery will escape anything we can do. Maybe 1 out of 20 can be actually salvaged into semi-happy people and that's optimistic. But yet this is still worth doing, right? Fuck everything.
