General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Some people jumping on the vtuber bandwagon forgot that they're supposed to play a character instead of moralfagging on twitter.

This is what they were complaining about.
Nobody deserves to be harassed like this over something so dumb. Honestly it says a lot about them seeing sexualized children over drawings... Food for thought...

However, it appears that kyuotto has previously traced artwork in the past: Twitter thread. (Archive)

I still think harassing people over drawings is just as bad, if not worse, than tracing someone else's artwork and claiming as their own. At least there's a very good reason to be upset if the latter happens to them. The former are just morons making fools of themselves and wasting everyone's time.

kyuotto may just end up very popular anyway with people coming to her defense.

Was it Yourson Isold?

That cunt is so obnoxious and has a weird enough name for they to live rent-free in my head.
EVERY single clip with any amount of yuribait and one comment mentioning it has this guy calling all Hololive girls colossal lesbians
i was thinking of Andrea Ritsu actually, because she made an Amelia Watson gay compilation and im not sure if it sat right with me

Suddenly i remember of the time when that one Nijisanji lady (the one with the long purple hair? i forgot what her name was) came out as bi/lesbian and some people in the comments were like "man, i wish Hololive catered to more than their straight male audience" or something like that.

Now's a good a time as any to promote what can be considered Dice's magnum opus.
I just realized I praised Hazy Skycraper like three times but never posted it, now that's a sin

Wish I had somewhere to sperg about Dice's music, no one I know cares about her enough to give her a try.
I recognize that fucker too; he lives and breathes on clipper channels, so luckily I haven't had the pleasure to see his bullshit in a while as I got away from clippers and started focusing on the livestreams when I can, even if they're in Japanese and I can't understand much of it. Clips are fine and dandy but that dude needs to fucking chill with his thirst for girl on girl.
The only vtubers I actually tune into the streams of are Suisei and Flare, I mostly spam Ritore Translations' daily clips.

Am I a fake

Funny thing is that I'm pretty sure Gundo is actually Bi, that or she said that to calm down the GunKan fanbois

btw people are flipping out because this tracer its a loli vtuber ... lmfao 73% of the models are actually based on loli looks!

its amazing how the drama pours high even on the vtubers environment. but whatever low shit they do i guess its inevitable to dodge the guilt and bad doings from their community and followers

Just tuned into Moona's minecraft stream and someone heard a baby crying in the background. Chat went wild thinking it was her daughter, but it's actually her niece. She's in university anyway so i doubt that's her kid in thr first place

(can't attatch media on mobile for some reason, sorry)

Notice how many of those "indie vtubers" haven't even debuted yet. Like seriously, if you really wanted to be a Vtubers, don't half ass it and only announce your character when everything is ready, and don't fucking do anything thag potentially could alienate audience, ANY kind of audience. Western indie Vtubers really are a mistake
Thing is they are trying to replicate the success of some indie VTubers like Artemis and "her" friends, building up hype and following while not doing anything whatsoever. It worked though (at first) and people ate it, expecting that Artemis debut will be good and interesting, but now her livestreams have lower and lower viewers. Only EN VTubers worth watching are Hololive and I hope that Nijisanji won't ruin their EN livers.

In conclusion: dont be an indie vtuber that says over and over and over again ''debut soon, debut postponed, debut seriously next month i swear!, debut... fuck it not debuting sorry!''.

its just sad how they think that crap will ever work out when they dont even start to settle a regular and consistent streaming schedule to keep growing their community

Ah, no wonder cockmouth got her info so easily; she's literally going by the same name she's been using and just rebranded herself as a vtuber, rather than thinking to use a new persona. Kinda seems like a minor cow in her own right.
The other two at least had the sense to cover up their tracks, though I'm also not looking super hard.

Twitchthot's living for the drama and replies to every negative tweet she's got, which when combined with the fact she's still under 100 followers, indicates she's only doing because she's an attention whore. That's nothing surprising, though.

I saw that video the other day and yeah, it weirded me out a little too. One, it felt a little strange to put 'lesbian lesbian lesbian' on everything while including a clip of her outright saying she 'like(s) both", two, I just don't get the obsession people have over any streamer's sexuality.

We should've gatekept more.
Is that even possible, given the way social media is?
Something i do really like about a forum like this when discussing Vtubers is that it gives room for people to write longer thought out (if perhaps autistic) posts and add media relevant to the conversation as opposed to chatrooms like Discord where most people come up with short replies because the conversation is far too fast paced to keep up with

By the way, for some reason, i feel fine with Homolive jokes, but whenever someone calls them straight up lesbians, it feels kinda wrong. I know some of them are into girls, but calling them all lesbians feel weird
Agreed regarding Discord. As for the whole lesbian angle, SALTE pretty much said what I would have.
There's a difference between yuribaiting and straight up sexual preference. Yuribaiting happens all the time because it sells and sometimes it genuinely is difficult to tell when two (or more) girls are just being flirty with each other because they're good friends or are actually flirting with each other. ...
I think the majority of it is kayfabe. NoelxFlare comes off as an act to me, but it is rarely discussed here because it generates too little drama (which is highly unlikely in actual girlxgirl relationships). CallixKiara is obviously just an act. The fanbase in general takes its ships too seriously.

I've noticed a drop in quality of clips and translations and as a result, the viewers. A lot of it boils down to sex jokes. They don't get that there's more to Marine than being horny. So, old fans forget Marine can decently draw or has IRL life experience, and new fans only want to hear about how thirsty she is. Same probably goes for a lot of the other girls.

And now she muted her voice because there's the sound of Adzan (Islamic prayer call) leaking through her stream.

Oh, you should see some things that I found. It's hilarious how so many people are that gullible

Yeah. Like seriously man, we just want to chill and discuss Vchuuba with and without kayfabe here. If anyone here wants to raid, ask someone else

I suspect a lot of them have some OC or fursona they've drawn or commissioned a lot of art for, and would like very much to get on the attention-fueled bandwagon but could not afford/be fucked to find out how to translate their anime scribbles into a fully rigged live2D avatar. So, for now, they are as worth taking seriously as all the "manga artist" weebs of days gone by.

Also, some folks a few pages back were talking about Ollie's BGM, and I agree it's a banger, one of the best out of any Holomen. Got me curious though, whose BGMs do y'all like the best? In addition to Ollie's, I have a personal affinity for Botan's, Aqua's, Polka's, and Pekora's. The rabbit's BGM sounds like some kind of insane brainwashing song, frankly. There may be more but it's hard to remember what exactly they all sound like, and the fact that some of them have several songs they use based on what they're doing - gaming, zatsudan, spacha reading, etc.
Gotta admit that I find background music kinda obnoxious. Yeah, I know it makes non-gameplay segments seem more lively, but once I hear it loop more than three or four times, it starts to drive me nuts… and during gameplay, it's just completely unnecessary.

First post, hello all.
This thing came up in my recommendations yesterday.
codemiko is an "interactive video game npc" who streams on twitch. Her model runs in Unreal Engine and she seems to use full body tracking for every stream. Chat is able to interact by changing her model proportions or spawning shit into her environment. Her model seems pretty well made but the facial expressions are constantly dipping into the uncanny valley. Personality wise, seems like a standard twitch thot.
It's cool tech, though. Looking through the other clips on the Twitch channel, the ones that feature interviews remind me very much of Space Ghost: Coast to Coast in their pacing and humor, and, well, the fact that it's a cartoon character talking with a real human, so I have to imagine that's what they were going for. I'm pretty sure that means they were pre-recorded and edited, though.

Oh, absolutely. All "yuri" stuff in all of this should be assumed to be an act regardless of "proof." These are characters playing off of anime tropes for tips. People who think any of these women are actually hooking up off stream are missing the forest for the trees. Do they realize that none of these characters are dog-girls or shark-girls or reapers either?

In all honestly I didn't even know debuts were a thing when I started (I started before HololiveEN debuted) and I've just been kinda doing my thing. In honestly seems to me that a lot of the western "vtubers" care more about twitter/internet fame than streaming and vtubing is just the next venue they can use.

Anyone up for doxxing those fags? I tried, but I'm a retarded amateur.
What did I just fucking say hours ago, you sped?

It's not our responsibility to brigade against, or in the defense of, anybody who is posted here. You're here solely to collect and preserve information, and laugh at people on the internet for their spergery. Anything more than that and you've got the wrong idea of what the purpose of this site is.

Someone tell botan not to host any talk show because after being told by lamy that she's shishiron's lamy, the clown now enters the "we live in a society" phase of her career.
Damn her range is pretty incredible. That "onii-chan" bit sounds exactly like the sort of voice you'd hear in an h-game or something.

yeah i think what this new indie vtuber dont understand is the concept to play into it, they just copy what big people doing, while i think doing vtuber stuff, like some of you said couple pages ago, just an excuse to stream anything without worrying much about face and you can be any character you want. but they always thinking doing "Debut", hyping pre-debut is necessary, while if you really start from 0 i think no one give a shit, unless you coming from big company.
