With philosophical takes like that Liam is on his way to becoming the next Cicero or Thomas Aquinas.
What a retard. Who the fuck is Griffith? Liam is the perpetual victim. It's hard to say if that's a swipe at Ethan because its so mind blowingly dumb. I have a feeling Liam is talking about himself here by using an antithesis rhetorical device. He's autistically saying he's the opposite of Griffith, who may or may not represent Ethan.
Liam thinks he's some kind of deep thinker that is the intellectual voice of a movement. The reality is he's a barely functioning screeching autist who has earned his lolcow status by constantly choosing the most idiotic path imaginable.
His chimpouts about his router speaking to him in secret messages from anonymous and responding to every criticism by striking channels and conspiracy thinking. His special ed slapfights with sketch therapy and now embracing Ro and WC.
If he was a thinker he would throw his computer out the window and get a real job. He's an unmarried childless weirdo with no career trying to hustle in a microcosm of a dying niche industry. At no point has he asked himself if sperging for hours every day and staying up to odd hours in order to reach an American audience is healthy or a worthwhile life goal.
Griffith is the main rival/antagonist of the manga Berserk, by Kentaro Miura. Liam is actually wrong in that reading of his, since Griffith's dream was a pretty ambitious dream to establish a kingdom and become a ruler of it, since he was pretty much a zero to hero kind of character. The problem in the story is that he was so fixated on his dream that he was willing to
do anything to achieve it, driving himself into madness and committing acts like whoring his own body out to other men in power to secure more power, as well as forcing himself onto a Princess to secure more power out of desperation that the one person he didn't want to admit was closest to being a friend of his, Guts, has requested to leave in pursuit of a reason for his being.
As a result of forcing himself onto the Princess, Griffith's dick was chopped off, his tongue cut off, and tortured for nearly a year, excessive torture, might I add, destroying any muscles in body to basically make him a broken man who can't even muster the strength to even strangle someone due to the destruction of his tendons.
At the time, before Griffith fell from grace, a woman under his command, Casca, basically had feelings for him, and during his imprisonment, she began to develop feelings for the man he was closest to consider a friend, Guts, the man that left him, and the man that he blames for his own downfall. Seeing Griffith as a husk of a man he is now, even she realizes she can't ever bone the guy ever again, and that he will never fight in another battle again due to his broken body. Griffith, however, never gave up on his dream, his obsession drives him insane to sacrifice literally everyone who was under his command for the Eclipse to become the Angel Femto, one of the Godhands, now with a reincarnated demonic body. Casca and Guts were marked for the sacrifice, but weren't sacrificed just yet, and Griffith, now no longer human, proceeds to rape Casca in front of Guts' soon to be one eye as a big doggo is biting on his arm and claws into one of his eyes.
I would say that the
actual apt reading of this entire analogy is that Liam is actually more like Griffith, who refuses to compromise in any case in pursuit of whatever his perceived endgoal is, as compared to how he and Micah like to fashion themselves as the Guts of the story. Liam's fixation had always been to build a community and get in touch with the people, much like Griffith came off, to build a nation and be a ruler, you know, training up the next generation, etc.
I can see why Liam views
@FROG as Griffith, since there is a cold and cut throat demeaner in Frog as well, much like Griffith, when it comes to executing things, but I'd wager, if anything, Frog is leaning towards being Guts, just a bit more, on the scale of hardships (if we are disregarding some of the laziness Frog exhibits), and the comparison to Griffith is only apt to when Griffith brought paradise as a Godhand, and already built a Kingdom to rule, much like how EVS is pretty much the de facto leader of CG, but philosophically, they aren't even close in comparisons except for how hard EVS has the willpower to keep going through a lot of this, which that, I will give him credit for.
Now, let's get to real meat of this.
If Liam is Griffith, and EVS is perceived as Griffith as well by Liam, then it is possible to interpret this as Liam, by platforming WC and laundering their gayops and peasant revolution on his channel, was intending to rape EVS's Casca (which is CG), but instead raped Micah (his own Casca) into oblivion as EVS sits on top raping both of their significance, which was already almost nothing, to oblivion, in the hell dimension the Eclipse spawned, in CG-land, titled: The Oz Show, where all these drunk demons scourge out of the underbelly to rip anyone apart, Berserk Guts, being one of those mindless retards with nothing to do.
The only reason I can think of Liam thinking of EVS as Griffith is this quote once said by Griffith: "
While many can pursue their dreams in solitude, other dreams are like great storms blowing hundreds, even thousands of dreams apart in their wake.
Men live and die by their dreams. But long after they have been abandoned they still smolder deep in men’s hearts. Some see nothing more than life and death. They are dead, for they have no dreams.
It is my perception, that a true friend never relies on another’s dream. A person with the potential to be my true friend, must be able to find his reason for life without my help."
Liam felt like his friendship was rejected, so instead of being like Guts, and walking away, he hung around like a stink that isn't going away and was gonna sacrifice everything in the name of gayops and receipt droppings, much like Griffith. The roles quickly reversed in real time, without Liam ever realizing it.
