You really can't. The mathematical odds that he did this legit are absolutely absurd. That this looser cheated at digital lego speedrunning to impress his army of child stans is the only logical conclusion from the probability of drops he got in his game. Really pathetic stuff.
Except that someone weaponized autism and had a computer run simulations on those droprates millions of times and couldn't even get close. Dream is straight up retarded for thinking nobody that plays Minecraft would have the autism to sniff him out.
you're right. i'm applying xcom logic here. "95% chance to hit" my ass

Pretty sure it was billions, if not trillions. Trillions would be well within the realm of possibility for a decent desktop depending on how long he ran the calculations.
Maybe I'm just dumb and only remembered that it was millions of tests per minute?

I find it funny that both Dream and Chibi have some similarities. Both have a rather weird and sketchy background and history online, both are in their 20s, both have cheated in a speedrun with new tech/a new update, both faking their reactions upon using said tech, and both having someone deep within the community to spot that something was off immediately, and calling the validity of the run into questioning.

To put into perspective of how absurd Dream's luck was, that being, trading with an NPC/Mob to get an item to progress, you are
>more likely to run into 6 Dunsparce in a Generation 2 Pokemon game, which only inhabits one area with under 5% chance of encountering in the first place
>more likely to get Thwack, an instant kill move in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate used by Hero as your first move in your Spell List special (which contains over 20 different spells and only a maximum of four at random) and for it to instantly kill (the move has a higher chance of killing if the enemy is weaker)
>more likely to get 5 back to back shiny Pokemon with new odds, and 3 back to back shiny Pokemon with the old odds (which are 1 in <4000 and 1 in <8000 respectively)
>more likely to get Payday 2's GO Bank Heist to have the vault straight up open, eliminating all the hard work which could take a minimum of at least 8 minutes, and shredding it down to only a matter of SECONDS once in a player's lifetime playing that game (which this only happens 1% of the time on Normal difficulty and has only happened legitimately once on Death Sentence, the hardest difficulty in the game)

tl;dr retard luck is real but even a retard can notice that the man cheated

Dream is like a messiah to these tards it's fucking hilarious

btw does anyone have the original minecravenger tweet archived? this one, the one that started it all!

was very active in communities like Doxbin himself, so much so that he gained the respect of mods there. As to how true Dream's claims are on this, I'm ambivalent. Does anyone have any further speculations on this?
He does this all the time, claiming to be close to some figure of authority to try and help himself, he did it during the cheating drama by claiming one of the mods called him and told him he was 100% on dream's side and that the other mods rushed the doc through because they hated him and that said mod was considering leaving the mods because of this, no evidence for this was provided of course, same with the "Harvard astrophysicist" he hire which didn't put his name on the paper and had no way to verify his credentials, this time is probably him trying to scare the doxers away by claiming he knows other BIGGER MORE SCARY DOXERS like usual.

There was no way of ignoring it totally but I agree if he just said "I didn't cheat but I understand the incredible odds are weird, I'll just keep trying!" then it would have been better for him. Instead he makes a massive deal about it and invites further criticism from not only the Minecraft community, but the math nerds as well.
but also, if he did do that, would we even have this thread right now? His notoriety has skyrocketed even more from all this discussion surrounding him, and in the entertainment industry they say no publicity is bad publicity. This is the first time a lot of people ever even heard of him. His socialblade says it all.

Could this little manipulator have known that all this math talk would make for an engaging discussion? Because, it does

The worst part about all of this is that Dream had people he could learn from. Plenty of people from CallMeCarson's friend group had obsessive stans, later denounced them, and ended up better off because of it. Less porn got drawn, less fanfiction made, less retarded teenage girls badgering them about their sexualities'. It's still fucked up that it's being made at all, but at the very least there's less of it. But Dream, of course, decided that condoning the behavior of his severely mentally-ill audience was a good idea. So as a result, now he's got mountains of porn, even more fanfics, and creepy people who want his limbs chopped off. All because he was a little bitch baby who couldn't say "no,"

Sorry, I know the conversation's mostly moved on to the cheating aspect of the drama, but I find it really fascinating. It's not like he was going into this blind and didn't know how bad stans could be, and it's not like he didn't have connections to people who have loudly stated their distaste for stan culture? The simple truth of the matter is that he's a coward. Instead of trying to better his fanbase and clean up his image, he let his rabid fans create his own image. One of obsession, frequent cancellation, and mob mentality. A creator who's lost control of their fanbase is one who has willingly lost control of their fanbase.

I wouldn't say Dream deserves it, no one does, but he sure as hell shouldn't be surprised.

Surely he's not retarded enough to sink his credibility for some YTBux. Thank god this forum doesn't have hundreds of documented instances of this being a bad move, right?

as long as the stans are in your favor, you can milk them for plenty of money in merch and donations. but once you fall out of favor, you're thrown to the wolves. awoo!

The pokemon stats explain it best for about three-quarters of this website, me included. He cheated for sure!

Hopefully this doesn't come across as white-knighting for Dream, but I hope that people remember that he's only 21, and was catapulted to fame incredibly quickly. There's no doubt that he has done some very dumb shit, but I find it a bit vexing when people point to this kind of stuff as if it's any different from the kind of dumb shit young adults his age do all the time. He's not a four-dimensional chess-master or a scheming criminal mastermind who is engaged in some giant conspiracy to brainwash his fans; he's an introverted kid who hit it big and is fumbling around with a giant audience he has neither the social skills nor experience to handle properly.
The problem for me is t that he’s a retard kid doing retard kid shit. It’s the fact that he faked something and stands to make massive amounts of money off of it.. that’s why he did it. For likes, subs, views, superchats, attention during streams, and sponsorships. There’s NO WAY he didn’t do this with an eye geared towards making bank. That’s the issue for me, aside from being unethical and all that- he’s squeezing out people who legit played the game and got good and profiting off this shitty decision.

the most idiotic stan argument is "why would need to cheat? he's good at the game!"
putting aside the obvious incentives for why someone would cheat (fame/reputation, personal frustration, money), as Karl Jobst explains, doesn't matter how good you are at a game when it comes to RNG. and lucky runs draw in viewers because it's much more boring to watch hundreds of runs reset over and over, and make it way easier for one run to be "the run". that's the nature of speedrunning.
