Frankly, nothing I saw at the Capitol riot stirred me nearly as much as seeing business owners beaten in the street at the BLM riots for trying to protect their buildings.

Here is the livestream. Judge for yourself.Sigh. Let me edit the post, I thought the intro was funny. No, I’m not new here and please continue to slap autism stickers on me.
ETA: all right, edited in the interest of getting a real take on what people think that - assuming these folks went there planning to do what they did - these people were telling themselves would happen next. My original wording can be found where I am quoted.

They took the flex cuffs from the cops’s riot bags.I am honestly just going on the restraints and the gallows. I see people saying those restraints had to be purchased or otherwise obtained in advance, and that the gallows was not a prop but actually well constructed and functional. I have no ability to know if this is true.
This is pretty revealing. There was some scattered violence, but the vast majority of them in the building look like they're taking an uninvited tour. Walking around vacantly, telling each other not to damage any property. oy vey, the new 9/11.Here is the livestream. Judge for yourself.

The answer is that most had no plan at all, they got carried away in the mass hysteria of a big excited crowd (Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds covered the mindset of the Trump crowd like 200 years ago). They hoped some other guys had a real plan and they would help out with whatever it was. I think the guys who had actual goals or plans did want the rubes to cause a ruckus as a distraction, but failed anyway.
They obviously believed they could go back to their hotel, tell all their buddies how crazy it all was and return home to life as normal...and most did for a few days. I mean on Jan 6 there were only 15 arrests ffs.
Karen and Brad thought Storming the Capitol was like a crazy weekend in Vegas - wild shit to brag to everyone all about when they got home and only minor repercussions like blown money, few bruises, lost phone.
But to be clear the only reason any of this happened is because the security at the Capitol let it. They did not have anywhere near the normal security in place for a protest near the Capitol, a lot of ppl in Capitol security positions of management and on the ground were sympathetic or very supportive of Trump. Security was suddenly terrified of overreacting or seeming intimidating towards a bunch of white guys wearingMAGA hats, camo and waving the American flag.
If they had even a third of the security force that was in place around the Capitol during the summer for BLM protests no one would have gotten into the Capitol. The ppl in charge of security at the Capitol and other just completely shit the bed.
I figure the MAGA crowd will start saying the lax security was entrapment and the feds tricked them into storming the Capitol. It’s always a conspiracy and someone else’s fault. Except Trump, it’s never, ever his fault.
Edit: some of the crowd might actually have thought Trump would go to the Capitol to speak on the Senate floor. He could have actually done that, but was too chickenshit.
If Trump has any guts or imagination he would have invited them as his guests to stay at the WH until Jan 20.
I disagree. That was just tragic. Seeing Congresscritters cower from their own constituents and seeing lunatics dancing around in the main chambers and boasting about how they put their feet on Nancy Pelosi's desk, that was hilarious. Like they compare this to 9/11, but nobody, not even the Muslims/dancing Israelis/whoever were making jokes about 9/11 on the day of (even in the Middle East it was just "damn, thank god the infidels got fucked up"), but the memes were already hilarious as this was happening.Frankly, nothing I saw at the Capitol riot stirred me nearly as much as seeing business owners beaten in the street at the BLM riots for trying to protect their buildings.
This is what I'm curious about. Was it a deliberate scheme or not? I'm not convinced that it is. Compared to other protests, how did security differ than normal and can we the people figure this out or even do an FOIA about it? And even if security was the same, did they put inexperienced people in charge? I think it could be hard to tell if it was a deliberate scheme or not, and I think anyone seriously concerned about it should consider that it's a possibility they did. It should be easy to prove if it's true or not based on how the police are typically deployed. But to be clear the only reason any of this happened is because the security at the Capitol let it. The breakdown in Security is larger than just Capitol hill police. But to be clear the only reason any of this happened is because the security at the Capitol let it. I wonder if @Null has received his letter yet?Senator Warner (VA) has written formal letters to owners of technology companies (https://archive.md/l73J9) regarding the DC protests. Warner is sending the message that companies will now be expected to turn over information at the drop of a hat as long as "evil White supremacists" are involved. This is similar to the Patriot Act (https://archive.md/m0aif) power grab that was done after 9/11.

2nd photo: Warner's letter to Durov (Telegram owner) Durov's channel (https://t.me/durov)
This will set the precedent of demanding any communications at any time. Combine that w/ making any pro-America/pro-White advocacy "hate speech," and you get an idea of the nightmare world that's ahead.

I'm not sure who Azealia Banks is, but I am in love.
You have nothing but mind reading to make the claim he wanted anything more than a rally. The worse accusation based on facts is that it was reckless with emotions that high and the rally poorly organized. There's a clip of Alex Jones trying to tamp down the crowd, but it was too late.I agree.
Now i also think Trump was not planning for them to get inside. HE wanted them to be there, make a lot of noise and solidify his political power. Maybe get in and do one of those civil disobedience things. Get in and sit on the floor.
That did not happen and now he gave a excuse for the Dems to come after him and for some republicans to get rid of a person they do no like in the party.
This was very unplanned, but it is insurrection. Bumblefuckery of a insurrection, but it became that because Trump did not show leadership or have a plan.
He wanted something big to happen, but not this. They made him look bad.
Forreal though. People trying to defend this shit are you aware you can not agree with violently storming Congress and not be immediately signed up for antifa? Even if you ideologically agreed with it in theory this set you back more than Charlottesville and is by far the biggest L for the right in modern history. The people who went into the capital were fucking idiots and in the end all they managed to do was make a giant mess and open a Pandora's box of people who think this was somehow a success and will endlessly try to capture that energy again with disastrous results. No amount of reconciliation from the left is going to appease the nutbags especially while people on the right are still fanning the flames.I have some questions for whoever, in this thread.
That‘s what I keep wondering. I just can’t figure how you take these actions and think you’re going home to live your life, and I can’t figure how they thought they’d actually overturn the election that day, and I can’t figure how they thought maybe Trump would protect them? Did they think the government would see no difference between rioters burning down Portland and rioters constructing a gallows and storming the US Capitol while the VP and the entire order of succession was inside? Because even if you think morally it’s the same or worse to burn Portland, did they really think the goddamn feds would agree?
- Is it that you don’t believe anyone involved in this went there planning to take hostages and execute various people starting with Pence, or that you do, and you think they believed their actions, in which you would never participate and do not approve of in any way, would’ve been theoretically justified in Minecraft?
- To me, 90% of these people illustrated that thing Grampas ask when their dog comes back from chasing the garbage truck: What do you think you’d do with it if you caught it? Other than the 10% or so who may have had an actual plan (and came prepared with restraints and constructed the gallows etc) which will no doubt be investigated, what do you think they thought was going to happen next? To them? Your basic Rick and Karen in that crowd. What did they think happens next after you storm the US Capitol?
And I cannot imagine Rick and Karen *not* envisioning a hotel and a nice dinner that night and returning to their lives the next day. I just don’t get what they told themselves would happen next.
Edited to...idk, glow less? I am genuinely interested to know though.
This board 100% needs a fedpost react.Can I have a glowstick rating?
>saying nigger repeatedly in first sentenceNiggersexceptional people are in full blown denial mode saying the "raid" on the capital is worse than what theirniggasneighbors did in their neighborhood
Just posting here at all means you're a fed. So what's your number, Paco? This board 100% needs a fedpost react.
Have you seen other protests in this general time period? Hasn't it been standard to let mobs blow off some steam and more or less stand down even when their behavior is criminal? We've seen how that worked with the left, which is to say it didn't. This time, it inconvenienced the richie rich motherfuckers in the fruity little club none of us are in or ever will be, though. So this time it's "terrorism." Honestly the more I think about this the more I think those motherfuckers should live in fear of their lives every goddamn day from the moment they wake up until they go to bed (with a bunch of children probably). This is what I'm curious about. Was it a deliberate scheme or not? I'm not convinced that it is. Compared to other protests, how did security differ than normal and can we the people figure this out or even do an FOIA about it?
If anything, the storm on the Capitol is an interesting exercise in group dynamics. People just kind of went along with what they assumed everybody else was trying to achieve, there was barely a concious decision to storm the Capitol, it just sort of escalated down that route. They took the flex cuffs from the cops’s riot bags.
