Inactive Richard "Lowtax" Kyanka - Deadbeat (emphasis on "Dead") founder of Something Awful, forced out of his own community, on his second divorce, stuck his dick in crazy, "Birth Giver"

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
As someone who posted there for a long time, I do tend to give the average user the benefit of the doubt [ ... ] But you’re probably right, the general population is probably shittier than I’m giving them credit for.

To try minimize the number of gay words on this tangent since @Humble Shitpost Merchant covered most of it and to reduce the odds of arguing past each other:

I do get where you rose-colored glasses come from.
The aggregate SA poster behavior of just going along with whatever opinions currently prevail and projecting your good intentions onto the abstract whole of a group you are a member of are very common human tendencies, and definitely not unique. Its also easily to see the feebs who were fellating Lowtax as they donate to his Goldbelly fund or the latest obvious Mod scam and simply think "That's not me, or anyone I hang out with; those must be outliers".

SA has always been run by clout-chasing freaks seeking power validation they can't get elsewhere. The only real difference is they're now they are trying to couch their lust for power in morality, which is how you end up with #BelieveAllWomen(unless they married Lowtax).

Jesus Christ. This looks like one of those 'one last hug for my dad at the hospital before the cancer takes him from us tonight' kind of pictures.

I wonder if he learned about dropping the kid off with grandma to stream, no most likely he was told to be wholesome.

It's different on SA now, but it used to be really easy to avoid any and all moderator drama. All you had to do was not open QCS or any of the talk to mods threads. A lot of the better subforums were fairly hands off and insulated from admin faggotry. Mod infighting and drama was a constant thing there so it was easy to tune out.

You had to avoid any moderator pet threads (or arguing for the existence of threads they disliked), or offending any of their toadies too. They'd dig up an old post, punish you for that so it didn't look like you were getting got for pissing off their rentboy.

But honestly, I don't think the number of Clout chasers has really gone up so much as the numbers of posters who aren't trying to finagle a power trip has dropped precipitously, so they simply stand out more now.

I remember that time as well.

I didn't know what gamer gate was.

The very first mod fuckery I was aware of was in regard to threads mocking fat people.

At first in the early 2000 they would shit on fat people

Then gbs started gassing threads on how Amy Schumer was fat.

Not pictured: The morbidly obese black child protective services employee watching them and taking notes making sure Rich actually spends time with his kids and doesn't pawn them off to go get drunk.

That's how Reddit started dying as well, banning FatPeopleHate
This seemed to come in with troonery, at the point in the evolution of "social justice" where people just get to make up utterly ridiculous lies and you're not allowed to say that's not true, like you can be a 600 pound fat fuck and not die of a heart attack, or just screeching that you're a woman makes it so.

I dont read the death fat section here. But there was one anti fat hat post from like 2003 thats stuck with me.

Oh they would call fat people ham beast even have an emote for it.

But one goon made the point that alot of people are asshole s but fat people stand out when they are assholes hence getting that reputation.

No I'm sure it was a total coincidence that right after you make a post implying Abe is not funny you get a probie from his buddy for accidentally not putting a space after a comma in a post made 8 months ago.

Noticed this interview with Rich about SA’s moderation from 2017 is making the rounds again with Trump being banned from twitter.

Looking back, it’s hilarious how the journo implies Jack Dorsey needs to take pointers from Rich on BANNING DA NAWTZEES. Jack does woke moderation too, but:
-Way more successfully. His mods are more stable and better at their jobs. No Trekkie pedo scandals (MODS KNEW).
-He built a platform people want to use despite the censorship. Any goon with any talent (Dril for example) left Richard’s shitbox for Twitter and never looked back.
-He became a billionaire off of it, despite Twitter being free to use.

The article’s narrative is that Rich was an involved site owner who built a successful, non-toxic community by using moderation to filter out the lowest common denominator. What he really was, was in an ambien coma while transsexual control freaks made his site even worse and more irrelevant than all Web 1.0 forums were doomed to be.

Also doesn't mention that Rich was banned from Twitter, already proving that it has the superior moderation.
