I've now gone through all the endings, and it's hilarious how blatant it is that you are supposed to pick the Panam one.
The endings you can choose from are
The dystopian/depressing one
Literally have the role of protagonist stolen from you and have it so the entire story is actually about johnny.
Win, but you're still fucked, Judy leaves you no matter what and you decide to just go out in a suicidal blaze of glory.
and then you have Panam which
I made a post a couple of days ago about how great I think the "devil" ending is and I happly stand by that, and dont think that the Panam ending is near as thought provoking or interesting to play through, but as the conclusion to a 100 hour play-though of a story whose protagonist and characters I have grown to like, clearly you will want the positive and dare I say happy ending over any of the others.

you only get if you follow the longest story chain in the game to its conclusion, which stars the straight male, and thus surely the most chosen, romance character. Has you welcomed into the most friendly and un-moraly ambiguous group in the game with open arms and walk round an impromptu party in your honour. Has a unique gameplay mechanic, while all the others are just walking, talking and standard combat.
Then the epilogue offers clear hope that you will find a solution to V dying, Judy happily joins you, then surrounded by friends you leave the poisonous world of night city behind, with clear optimism for the future. And the final third person shot unlike all the others which has a close up of V being angry, scared or depressed, instead has a wider shot of V and Panam sitting together looking at the horizon in hope and even dialogue about them finally being home.
