Furry Fandom and Drama General

So you're saying that the "commission culture" is the fact that people can't understand that to be able to live off of commissions requires a very specific set of skills drawing very specific artwork, on top of fuckloads of luck, so they jump on it too thinking "hell this'll be easy" and completely end up in the financial gutter as a result?

Yep. It's especially stupid when you consider the fact that the commission culture is effectively a race to the bottom where you literally have people auctioning themselves off as "art slaves" for like $3 a day. Although in all fairness a lot of the people who do this are 18-year-old girls living with their mom and trying to get out of finding a job.

I didn't know that people blow their money on porn in the fandom. How sad, shit. Lemme guess, is it porn of their fursona? because I can't imagine that wanting to buy generic porn in a place that is overflowing with it is a good idea.

Well of course, either that or they have a very specific fetish or their waifu or whatever is somewhat obscure and doesn't have too much porn. If you wanna see how stupid this shit gets, check out the story of good ol' Allan, A.K.A. Lupine Assassin. I'm pretty sure he's been mentioned before but it's a good example of what happens when these 18-year-olds grow up to become 40-somethings and don't learn a fucking thing.

Here's another thing about furries I have realized: They're not the best at maintaining relationships. Why is that so?
They're fuel drama and are more cannibalistic than people realise, mostly because of mental disorders.

Also on the process of Commissions for a minor character I've been working on, I've sent out a few and I have had little commotion with discussing with the artists, most were like "Oh you want that? But that's so simple, it's just I was expecting you to ask for a 40 inch dong or huge six tits." You can find cheap artists anywhere but I often give people tips and if I think they're starting up new artists I usually pay a little bit more than I should just to get them started.

I know three artists that seem to be constantly being rimmed by people, they just shit out color designs for ten bucks and people buy them.

HAHA! Look, I know I make a comic about persecuted furries, but... LOL at people who believe furries are "fursecuted" in real life. It's even more ridiculous than the "War On Christmas" crowd.

I was considering doing commissions for furrys, but I think any money I end up making from drawing that kind of stuff I'd just end up spending on all the therapy ever.

Eh, your soul withers away after enough exposure, and they'll legit accept any level of skill since they are that desperate for images of their shit fetish (figuratively and sometimes literally).

Because they are absolute suckers for drama. It's ironic how a group of people whom have made it their mantra to accept anybody and everybody are so full of virtiol. Lol

Plus numerous opportunities to blow cash on various home-made things present a lot of cases of people ripping off, lying, and scamming. That is a hot-button issue in the community and tends to tear a lot of friendships apart.

I sure could use the money, but just I can't bring myself to make that shit. If someone just wanted a sparkledog, I guess, okay, but a sparkledog with a giant neon green boner cumming gallons of jizz up another spakledog's neon blue anus forcing that sparkledog to inflate and throw up said cum whilst smiling in ecstacy... just can't do it.

Some artists will only do SFW commissions. Sure, there's less money in it, and some people don't seem to understand the concept of SFW commissions, but you should be able to make a few extra dollary doos drawing reference sheets, con badges, and harmless stuff like two characters on a date.

That and there's still a decent, though notably smaller market of foaming and desperate idiots who will sacrifice their tugboat for pictures of their horribly designed OCs not being filled with [REDACTED]. It's kind of win-win really, though the market is more competitive because more artists feel safer in this field.

You speak like someone who has actually been asked to do this.

"I personally can understand the collar seeing as mine has a few spikes"
Yeah clearly that's the real problem. Those spikes are dangerous. Someone could catch a cold.
