Final Fantasy XIV is pretty bad.

My experience was that I didn't care about the cutscenes and that was a cardinal sin (oh no a dude playing an mmorpg doesn't care about the 15 yo fanfic story, sacrilege!) and people being frustrated that I was doing a dungeon run for the first time and didn't know the mechanics since apparently you have to do the homework before actually playing. But the 2nd issue is a thing that happens in most mmos, once the first clear is established and strat guides are known, if you wanna figure it out yourself you're griefing and an asshole. Oh and I spent like half the game getting shat on because I wanted to be a lancer/dragoon, that too. As for discord incidents I only went into a guild that "adopted me" (just one nice player tried to help me out and invited me into their guild discord as an outsider not a recruit) and in like 3 days I was kicked out because I hurt their feefees for doing things on my own in old content and not waiting for them for 30 minutes to finish whatever they were doing to go in (and for not accepting free mats to get the evolving weapon stuff crafted for me, I thought at the very least I should pay material costs even if I don't give crafting fees) since that seems to be really toxic? Idk.

I feel like if you wanna play games online you need a core of friends that you know, it's no longer possible to meet normal people online, they're all in their closed off fren communities.

90% of dungeon content past a certain point is easily figured out through powers of observation since a lot of dungeons tend to re-use mechanics you've seen before. There's some exceptions to this, but, for the most part, every dungeon in the game can be run blind without much holdup outside of someone being particularly shit at playing the game.

I have genuinely only ever seen this happen in hardcore raid tiers and a few particularly difficult Extreme fights. Which, granted, still make it a community-related problem, but we've gone over in great length how cancerous the raid scene is for the most part over in the XIV thread on here.

Dungeons and most story mode fights usually don't get that treatment because I feel like there's an unsaid, understood inevitability that you'll be running with retards as it is. Although I have gotten some particularly mouthy shitters in average tomestone-grinding roulette content since the last patch went live, so, hit or miss experience I guess. Or just the fact that more people are playing, thus, more chances at getting partied with an absolute faggot.

Dragoon has pretty much established itself as the "floor tank" since 2.0 because a lot of shitters historically roll it thinking they'll be easy, no liability DPS, and they end up eating every mechanic and being dead on the floor for most fights. It's a community-based joke/stereotype.

I don't remember which one it was but it had like 3 dragons and one of the sub-bosses was like a propane tank that exploded when it was hit or something and you had to smack it to get it out of the way (I didn't know that the 1st time) and people just had melt-downs about that stuff. There's some issues that I get like a tank late stage ignoring the request to toggle the +aggro skill which fair's fair that's you being retarded but honestly if I'm just fucking doing something for the 1st time with no one explaining then don't blame me, the best I can do is dodge aoes on the floor and some previous mechanics that I know (had to learn by 3rd parties about shit like eating the fruits in that toxic dungeon or that the chimera boss warning also warned about long-aoe or short-aoe etc). I don't even mind if they're really bad or anything as long as they at the very least try and listen to instructions (the fucking ramuh dungeon for example was tough even if you knew the shit you had to do but besides the one eventual retard that refused to listen the most toxic shit were the "experienced" players that quit the first wipe after a 30 year queue)

Either way it's a game I'm probably not returning back just out of the unskippable cutscene aidscancer, the weird ass playerbase that goes from hardcore maniac to drooling retard with no in between and the looting progression being really fucking awful (everytime I went out of a dungeon it just felt fucking sad that most of the shit I looted was just trash and you got more out of grinding the stupid-ass poems with unskippable cutscenes and trains of overleveled people). Didn't get into late-stage content just cleared some of the first few raids so can't speak much about the latest stuff, I generally just felt like dungeoneering was garbo and the evolving weapon farming was kinda mega-gay, finished the zodiac weapon and up to the 2nd stage or 3rd I don't remember of the next one and just quit.

Overall gay/10, don't play it.

Warframe, lazy inconsistent devs who constantly add features then never build upon them, change tone of the game with each major update leading to weird storytelling when catching up on kahntent and they blatantly turn a blind eye to corruption in a Guild who’s sole purpose is to help new players.

The playerbase laps up ridiculous grinding, poor performance, late updates, features put in place to hurt them and if you speak your mind on the faggotry they tell you it’s free so shut up. This isn’t coming from a newfag either, not to powerlevel but I’ve put some cash into Warframe, back when it was good and didn’t make you want to scream.

But remember forcing Dev’s to change tit sizes on Warframes is okay. Also there are a lot of lolis in the fandom now ever since the really gay reveal of what your character is.

They all share in common: acting like absolute pussies, be it arguing, moderating, or actually shooting at people. Jannies from both the reddit and in-game can suck my dick. Also the devs are the worst, releasing update after update of new unpolished content and fucking up old content. Unoptimized, unbalanced, and it's honestly not even fun anymore, I just want to play with tanks and planes I love.

TF2 also, but on a much lesser level. There are actually lots of chill people over there but it can quickly devolve into annoying tryharding on community servers when people are doing something else.

Now I know what the answer will be to complaining about L2Pfags, but some of them are actually on the full on extreme of justifying terrible balancing decisions with it. For more niché stuff or hard to master weapons/tanks I can understand, but for things that are blatantly underpowered/overpowered you're just sucking up to devs or you're scared that you won't be able to play like a retard anymore (ie: EBR 1954).

I don't play too much online, but for me it would be WoT.

Played from beta onwards for a few years (or whenever gold ammo became super common). Worst bit for me was when the stat mods came out.

Suddenly every single match was just a shit fest of doomers and idiots. "Oh, we have more reds than them, might as well quit".

Also being purple got you singled out by both enemies (priority targeting) and allies (why can't you solo the enemy team?).

This is a playerbase that has doxed, ddos'd, and apocryphally gone to someone's home and cut their power/internet. People have made friends for the sole purpose of stealing everything possible, taking years in the process. Damn. I don't play many multiplayer games so my worst experience is pretty weak.
Around uhh 8 years ago I was playing Battlefield1942 and one server I found that was regularly populated was apparently ran by some tight-knit group of neo-nazis. They all had SS ranks and names of some minor WW2 commanders.
The bad experience I had on there was just that I never got to play as Germans, as apparently the only rule of that server besides not cheating was that they get to be the Germans on every map with Germans.
