According to a bunch of parent blogs that email me for some reason, children contract covid-19 more often at social gatherings than at school or day care.

What a bunch of narks

Just realized this thread has been going for just over a year now.

Many, many thanks to all who contribute here. Still the best place around to get the straight info from all over.

Let us hope this time next year that this thread has sunk beneath the waves, but I tend to doubt it. "They" will fuck us over just as long as possible.

That's not how it works.
It selects for survivability (A) and/or faster transmission (B), not for higher host lethality (C). Survivability and transmission are not tied to increased host lethality, these are separate traits which are not intrinsically linked together.

Partial vaccination selects for "stronger" strains only in the context of A and B, while C is left relatively unaffected because it has no bearing on whether or not the virus can replicate in spite of new host defenses.

Looks like Biden has abandoned all plans for stopping the whu-flu. So this can go in several directions. Revoking states rights via federal lockdowns and mask mandates causing heartache that we haven't seen since the 1860s is one of them. Attempting to pass federal laws only to get BTFOed and then declare covid defeated to save face is another option.

Pod people of America will accept anything the media spoonfeeds them. It's going to be a bumpy ride.

The coof is defeated now. Any new cases are purely the result of maskless coup people from January 6th spreading it, so those fuckers should be sentenced to life. The rest of us have been safe from the coof since roughly the middle of November.

I've driven through there, very Innsmouthy feel. In Bong news, Glastonbury Festival in June has been cancelled. Conspiritard part of me wonders how much the gov paid the organisers to do it, with other shows seeing the biggest one gone and having second thoughts for their own, all falling nicely into the pod plan. And I've got 5 fucking shows this season to display my Cold War gear....
