OK, just making sure.
You know you can get really defensive over this show sometimes.
Even for my all time favorite shows, I can never go to bat for them and sometime join in on the ribbing.

That doesn’t explain what the hell Sapphire thought was going to happen when she gives the Diamonds the idea to collect more humans, and the Diamonds agree in her presence that kidnapping more humans is a good idea.

This entire plot hinges on either the characters being too retarded to figure out basic cause and effect, or crossing your fingers and hoping your audience is too retarded to notice. That’s not good writing.
I don’t want to feel like I’m piling on but there’s really big flip flop when it comes to how SU perceives it’s audience. One moment people can be praising the show for treating it’s viewers like geniuses and then the next they’re trying rationalize SU dumbing things down for it’s audience.

Sapphire: I went to Earth to get more humans because I predicted you’d want more
Diamonds: It’s true, we should get more specimens before the Cluster destroys the Earth.
8 episodes later
Aqua: Yo I was sent by the Diamonds to collect more humans
Steven: WHO COULD’VE FORESEEN THIS TURN OF EVENTS???

Golden.
You're really fixated on this point as if the fact that Steven knowing would change anything. It's not like they could protect an entire planet with three soldiers (and Steven).

That reply wasn't meant to be passive aggressive, I literally didn't understand what you were saying and wanted to clarify.

Because it’s a terribly paced plot whose effect hinges on both the characters and audience forgetting about an instance of foreshadowing so obvious that it’s practically spelled out for you in neon lights what the Diamonds intend to do, requires the characters to behave in a way that makes any attempt to justify their actions come off as them either being stupid or sociopathic, and their actions directly harm other members of the cast that the story decides to sweep under the rug outside of the instances where Steven can use them to throw himself a pity party.

It’s basically the perfect example of everything wrong with SU.

My point still stands. You’ve been replying every single user with an “Actually!” over any comment they make about SU. Also because I barely noticed this
For a time, there was very solid theory that CN was genuinely trying to kill the show.
I wonder if that theory fell apart when SU got an entire TV movie, complete with advertising and then an epilogue season; not something you’d expect from a network trying to kill a show.

Your point would have more merit if it weren't for the fact that I usually stay out of this thread specifically to avoid the exact thing you're accusing me of here. I was actually having a good time with a decent discussion for once since lord knows I need more practice at debating.

Except this isn’t even the first time you’ve done this. You’ve popped in and out of this thread doing the same thing.

Oh boo.

It's nice that you've been keeping track of my posting history, but if I see something I want to discuss I will discuss it. This has quickly gone from a me problem to a you problem.

Nigga I haven’t seen shit from your posting history. You just need to go back several pages of this very thread to see what I was talking about. This is on par with saying that looking at someone’s Facebook is an invasion of privacy.
but if I see something I want to discuss I will discuss it.
No one’s saying you can’t nor did they imply that.
This has quickly gone from a me problem to a you problem.
I mean, I’m not getting angry and passive aggressive over people arguing with me over a cartoon. You’re literally the only one here with a problem.

You sound like the line "I just came out to have a good time, and I'm honestly feeling so attacked right now" :story:

So, to a certain degree, this?

Steven Universe is Jesus, showing those dirty lebians hags how they should run their empire with the wisdom of the patriarchy passed to him by his virtous father. Thank you, Rebecca, for showing us that women are crazy people that cant govern themselves.
But, hear me out, RQ's death from childbirth is a feministic parody of the crucifixion. Ending your life by carrying an infant to term is the most shameful and torturous death they can imagine, but she insisted on this avoidable death to give hope to humans and incarnate Shitty Neglectful Mom the Shitty Neglectful Mom into human form. She is one third of the Shitty Neglectful Mom, the other thirds being Shitty Neglectful Mom the Shitty Neglectful Mom and Shitty Neglectful Mom the Shitty Neglectful Mom. Her loss condemns her followers to carry on in a foreign land, preaching the glories of Shitty Neglectful Mom to a doomed race and a people who have forsaken her ways. Like the cross, she is represented by the instrument of her death, the parasitic growth everlastingly sucking at her life force.

The Mother, the Son, and the Diamond? So Greg is the Virgin Mary, the Crystal Gems are the twelve apostles, and Bismuth is Judas?

Ok, now that someone pointed out Steven being three persons in one but not really, it does open the door for the christian intepretation of the series:
-Steven is three persons in one, but no really.
-He is born of a miraculous conception.
-He defeats his enemies through words and is prone to putting the other cheek.
-He offers forgivness to even his worst enemies.
-He dislikes sleazy merchants.
-He rejected temptetion when he refused to become part of the crystal authority.
-He spends a good chunk of his time giving homeworld gems new rules ro live by.
-He preaches that everyone has the same worth.
-He gets 3 apostoles (the crystal gems) to pass down his knowledge and them leaves them withbthe promise to return. 12/4=3. Coincidence? I dont think so.
Steven Universe is a christian tale, confirmed. Nah, its stretching it too much, but I bet someone with better knowledve of christianity could give a compelling argument.
At the end, what cracks me up, is for all its progessivnes, what saves the day and the gem empire, isnt even the crystal gems, but the down to earth wisdom of man (something, something hotdogs and porkchops).
