Conservatives have an idealized belief in fair play. When the king/commissar/bureaucrat says you may only use one broker, that's "bad". When a dozen brokers exist all competing for your business, that's "good". And when the whole dozen suddenly, simultaneously refuse to let you buy a hot stock, that looks more like the bad than the good. (Same with a dozen coordinating social media platforms, or payment processors, or domain registrars, etc.)

I'm thinking the same thing. Gonna end up either with election-tier cheating or our heroes are gonna find themselves suddenly turning up missing like every Kevin Spacey accuser, one by one.

As I said, hopefully they will know better to get out of town the minute they can cash in, which I hope doesn't happen soon since this went from bleeding snakes to outright gutting them open in the markets and it only gets better.
