God, it makes me wonder what failures Ma and Pa Chipman had to be to raise a pair of man-children like Bob and Chris. It wouldn't surprise me if both children troon out to please their father and uncle, who seem to have a greater than normal love of all things LGBT. I know liberal parents want to teach their children to respect everybody and not call people fags. I even know Bob has a troon cousin whom he probably sees from time to time. But Bob's slobbering, white-knighty thirst for MTF women seems extremely sus, even for a liberal.

Not being a parent, it's hard for me to judge the parenting of others, but I notice the kids who turn out the worst are the ones whose parents wanted to be their best friends. Those parents who feared being disliked by their children so much, that they just gave in and let them do whatever they wanted. This may not be what's happening in the Chipman family, but seeing Chris and Bob behave like children around the family children can't be good for their psyches. At some point, the Godzilla toys must be put away and the children must be taught about adult things like fairness and responsibility. They must also be taught that work comes before pleasure, and that culture consists of more than capeshit movies and watching a giant turtle spinning flames out of its legholes.

Agree. It never occurs to Bob that civilization consists of compromises, and that not everyone in a single geographic area are going to have the same opinions on anything. This is also another example of "standards for me, but not for thee." Bob never thinks his ideological enemies could gain control of the government and purge people who think like him from its ranks. I don't know if I've ever seen anyone who sees the world in black and white as much as Bob does. For him everything is either good or evil. Anyone who tries to acknowledge shades of grey are enabling evil which makes them also evil.

My personal opinion is that we should incentivise having children by giving people tax breaks, that education should be truly meritocratic (bring back grammar schools) and that free parenting classes should be available.
