I'm not in Spokane so I don't know for sure but wherever he's staying right now looks like a bunch of cots in an open room. Usually men and women are separated at shelters but it might be a very low barrier of entry place (I mean, Lucas is there...) where someone just monitors the room or something.

Even at low barrier shelters there is generally a requirement that male and female residents are separated, to avoid any incidents that might lead to police involvement and lawsuits. Especially if you have a shelter full of people like lucas

Like has already been stated, at the very least, the fact that she is into him is definitely either a lie of a delusion on lucas's part. That said, lets assume this young girl actually exists as he claims. If she is what he claims she is she's almost guaranteed to be a runaway, and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to find out such a runaway was younger than she claims and trying to get away from her parents. She could very easily be older looking 14 - 17 and claiming to be 18 so she can stay at the shelter without the staff calling CPS and the cops to take her back to her parents. Its not an uncommon thing. Point being, lucas could be fixating on an underage girl at the shelter right now and not even realize it. If thats the case he's in for a world of trouble if he gets creepy with her and her real age slips out in a moment of 'get away from be you fucking pedo!' rage in his direction

The fact that lucas doesn't have enough sense to be wary of a supposed 18 year old girl in a homeless shelter tells you how much of an idiot he truly is. "I want to take care of you" but the only example he can give is that he will cook for her, or if he's feeling too lazy for that, take her out to eat.
