Looks like the new guidance by the WHO is getting a better handle on this. Who knew that lowering the PCR cycles and asking for a second follow up test from asymptomatic persons would get such a result.

What happened to people that they think we are entitled to live beyond 100? At the expense of everyone else doing literally anything else?
There are people who believe that this virus will mutate to become worse and then merge with other mutations that level up and combine status ailments and raise the lethality and will reinfect people and keep doing this over and over until all humans on the planet are dead. That's absolutely a part of it.
But, it was always going to work like that. If you left the virus alone, it was going to peak and then drop back down. Did they think people were going to get infected exponentially forever?
They've forgotten their own "flatten the curve" graph. Curves have peaks.
So like the seasonal flu
But... but muh infinite reinfections! That's absolutely a part of it.

And the same people who unironically believe the virus is capable of this also unironically believe that locking down and isolating can somehow beat it.There are people who believe that this virus will mutate to become worse and then merge with other mutations that level up and combine status ailments and raise the lethality and will reinfect people and keep doing this over and over until all humans on the planet are dead.
Especially since this vaccine by all accounts, you are going to have to get every year.
Biden dindu nuffin he was a good boy who definitely won't be given shit rather he will get blowjobs from acosta and the like.
I can only hope this is the outcome. COVID has been so fucking lame. There are people who believe that this virus will mutate to become worse and then merge with other mutations that level up and combine status ailments and raise the lethality and will reinfect people and keep doing this over and over until all humans on the planet are dead.

So assuming that these claims about stricter testing requirements are accurate, which result do you all think is more likely?
No. Without going too TMI, it's an event outside of Rochester, NY. Nevertheless, you're right that a lot of events that are fundraisers or boost local economies in some way have been cancelled due to COVID and the difference is noticeable. Are you talking about the MusselMan triathon, which was bought out by Ironman?
Ironman Lake Placid? That event is big for that city, especially near the old 1980 US Hockey championship win there.
Maybe not; I would imagine a lot of events got cancelled last year.
In my part of Kiwiland, flu shots weren't even mentioned apart from the drug store asking if I wanted one when I was there when they first became available. One might think there might be concern of a COVID/flu overlap (for lack of a better way to put it), but it was odd that flu shots were barely mentioned this flu season.I feel like that's why the MSM made it a point early on to push "it's not the flu!!!" Even though it is. At least, it's a more severe common cold, which IS a coronavirus.
Someone I know recently brought up this very same point in response to something they read or heard about regarding the number of reported abuse cases dropping and the likeliness of more unreported abuse taking place. That's why it's hard to take seriously teachers unions' claims that whatever the negotiate for is "all about the kids" or however they choose to express it.Breaks my cold, black heart when I hear about kids committing suicide and being sexually assaulted or otherwise abused now that they're home all the time. No one really gives two shits about their welfare, but they can point to the gobs of cash they spend to "educate" them (which actually equates to money spent being surrogate parents; feeding, sometimes clothing and even washing them up). The caring eyes that were on them every day, and who could recognize signs of this abuse, are no longer there to be a layer of at least half-hearted support, and at a minimum a place to get them out of the house for a day. Not a fan of the blacks whatsoever, but damn, their kids don't deserve this and it's a HUGE reason why they turn out the way they do: their parents are shit.
My speculation is that gyms are a concern because locker room facilities might not always have enough space for the required 6-foot distancing. Others might be concerned about people getting sweaty on equipment that may or may not be cleaned between uses. Unfortunately, those in authority use a one size fits all approach so a gym that has spacious enough facilities has to sit idle because of the smaller gyms that lack the sufficient space.don't get why gyms have been such a fucking whipping boy. How in the fuck is a place where people get healthier by exercising and lifting weights always the place that gets shut down first? My gym has a membership of like 100 people, and usually had 5-6 other people there when I went, and the place is massive and spread out. So goddamn dumb.
For better or for worse, trump doesn't mince words and makes it clear what he thinks without much of a filter. Unfortunately, this means it's easier for him to stick his foot in his mouth. Being his own worst enemy probably played a part in his defeat this fall.So basically Trump is his own worst enemy.
What probably happened was that the state undertook collection efforts against the fine. If someone or some entity has a monetary judgement and gets the requisite paperwork, they can levy bank accounts to satisfy that judgement. Most of the time, this is done to collect back taxes or an unpaid debt. I'm surprised to see this done with regards to a COVD-related fine. However, some states have been more aggressive policing and fining violators than others, so it's not that surprising even if it's a bit horrifying that states would be so aggressive in a case such as this.In New Jersey a gym did that, and the state fined them so much the state authorized their bank to wipe out their savings account without their consent because of the fines and the state sent people to literally try to flood them out.
The problem is that many areas never had a mechanism for this in place before COVID hit so they had no clue what to do or how to do it on short notice. It also doesn't help that many school districts and teachers unions are resistant to change. It's a shame that districts struggling to communicate with parents aren't more willing to learn from and emulate the districts (such as the one you mentioned) that have an effective system in place. Why this isn’t the norm everywhere baffles me. We get notices from school about 3 times a week that someone tested positive and you’ll be contacted individually if your kid was affected. If so, they just attend their regular class from home and then go back ASAP. Very smooth.
Some doomers I know presently worry about the mutant strains coming here from around the world. As much as I'm not big on conspiracy theories, I've nevertheless noted that for every downward trend in local COVID numbers, the media is quick to come up with something to keep doomers in their constant state of fear and panic -- whether it's mentions of multiple "second waves" or new scary strains being discovered. If/when numbers increase after such announcements, it feeds into the doomers' belief that things are going bad again and restrictions have to return to something more stricter.Doomers are starting to sweat now, theyre actually starting to get upset because they see the writing on the wall - the US will open soon whether they like it or not.
Yep. That shit has been happening since like April. Some doomers I know presently worry about the mutant strains coming here from around the world. Who cares if it's a nothingburger? As long as people are told the virus is the harbinger of doom and politicians act accordingly, it is the harbinger of doom. Cases are up by 500 million! 498 million recovered and 2 million died, but who cares!? 2 MILLION PEOPLE DIED!!!Yep. That shit has been happening since like April.
"Oh the virus isn't that lethal? What about the LINGERING EFFECTS?!?"
"Oh the virus isn't that lethal and long-term damage is rare? Yeah well you can get it again!!!"
"Oh the virus is on the regress? Well get ready to fear these DEADLY NEW STRAINS!!!"
I'm wondering what the next bullshit fear tactic will be after the DOUBLE-DOG DOOM STRAINS are revealed to be yet another fucking nothing burger?
Lady you are a doctor so you damn well know cytokine storms aren't a fucking punchline, they are your body's immune system going "fuck it I'm burning this bitch down"View attachment 1894743
