IMO that could be a potentially dangerous move. If these fictional characters can just come in and out as new incarnations then you seriously cheapen the drama that Marvel has successfully created. While I have my gripes with Endgame I have to give them props for how they ended Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man with a heroic death and had Captain America be retired into being the age of a real WW2 Veteran.Acknowledging and incorporating the Multiverse also gives them an opening for bringing back all those popular characters that were written off (Iron Man, Cap, Black Widow) or recasting characters whose actor has passed (Black Panther). They'll need it once the current direction of "let's build around the shitty ideas from Marvel Now" falls flat on its face and after they've ruined the X-Men for diversity points.
Yes the old saying is Comic Book heroes never stay dead. But I think the value of the MCU is that besides a few recasts (Hulk and War Machine) the superheroes should have a several year film span then gracefully bow out. The way I see it MCU could go on for another 20 years once X-Men are integrated.
Personally I don't even think the MCU X-Men should have another Wolverine because Hugh Jackman owned that role so damn well.
Edit: No Wolverine for at least a few more years.
