How will Eren be stopped?

I mean, lets say the executives stepped in and said, "We don't want an ending where Hitler wins." Which is kind of understandable. You could have easily done the time-loop stuff. He didn't have to do...whatever the fuck the last chapter was.

Maybe it was just a big 'fuck you' to the editors. It happened with Food Wars where the author got pissed about executive involvement and just made it complete shit. But I mean, there were so many ways to redeem Eren and not have him genocide.
As I said, he probably is the type of writer who focuses more on whatever he likes to do and had some semblance of a plan but changed it due to popularity and pressure (as I said before he honestly feels like Prequel-Era George Lucas in what he's writing). It doesn't help how slow certain arcs get (mainly the last two as everything after the Marley Arc felt slower in comparison) and how he has been retroactively change things using the anime to revise stuff for better or worse which pissed off some manga purists.

It doesn't help Attack on Titan was the first serialized manga Isayama has ever wrote because he wrote one-shots before the Attack on Titan manga was made including a prototype version of Attack on Titan which was his first ever one-shot, so his meandering probably has to do with how personal the series is. Honestly reading about trivia related to him gives some interesting information like how he told people to watch Game of Thrones before the final episode but then in the same month got pissed off at the ending later on, and how many of his favorite films lists include capeshit.
Ugh. Worst kind. Just grabbing random shit he likes and throwing it together. And of COURSE he likes Capeshit, because that ending was Avengers Endgame style. I mean its just hilariously bad. You have this dark and brooding story where there are concentration camps and child soldiers murdering adults and then all of a sudden, Armin convinces people who have wanted to kill their enemies all their lives through the power of love and friendship to defeat the evil Eren.

Its fucking insane. I really hate tonal inconsistences. And AoT is all over the fucking place.

I'd actually argue that the power of love and friendship could work great if the context of it was acknowledged in-series.

"Well, we've tried beating Eren, yelling at Eren, making fun of Eren, humiliating Eren, threatening Eren, isolating Eren, ignoring Eren, and locking Eren in a cell. Now what?"

"Why don't we just stop being assholes to him, and actually talk to him?"

"Huh..."

While I'm not an Eren stanning yaegerist, I'd have preferred the full rumbling ending. You can want that ending without thinking it's moral or anything. Not all series should have an ending where the guys who are morally right win. It would also have fit the earlier themes much better.

At least it would be different from this generic shounen/avengers power of friendship powers assemble.
In a sane universe as soon as the Rumbling Started..Erin would have wiped out everyone including the Eldians after the Friendship Avengers tried to stop him because GENOCIDE IS FUCKING BAD.

Then realized that Genocide is fucking bad after EVERYONE BUT HIM is dead. The DCAU Justice League did an episode with a villain who did that..and he helped one of the characters go back in time to fix his mistakes, that is how this shit should have gone.

To be honest, the ending could have been just Paradis surviving after the rumbling and Eren killing all his friends trying to stop him and living with the guilt. Quite meh ending but still better than this capeshit version.

Well Ultimately the Ending Aesop of this series should be that "The Cycle of Vengence and Hatred needs broken." but the ending we are gonna get is absolutely gonna fucking not do that.

Was Armin even ever that popular? It just seems so weird to me that he would defeat Eren instead of someone symbolic like Mikasa. It just feels like he doesn't care. The whole chapter is out of place it feels like a different Manga almost.

I don't think so. He was always liked, but never super fucking popular like Levi or Erwin. Isayama himself seems to have always really liked him, though, considering how he's always made Armin the one who ends up saving the day in the end, at least in the manga.

That's the whole fucking thing. Armin is hyped as this intelligent person while we saw no single instance of him shining with his intellect. Somehow within the last couple of chapters he can convince all the former titans including fucking Krüger to join against eren. Armong meme was born from that. Even Gabi is more built, even if she's an afterthought.

Slight sidenote: while I was an anime only during the first 2 seasons I even thought Armin was a girl?! The exposition was quite bad compared to other anime.

I mean he basically just replaced Erwin with Armin, kind of. Erwin got to the basement and was like, "My arc is over, Armin can have it." I mean he was ok, but he was just there. He had some plans but he never was all that major. But then every character suddenly kneels to him for some reason.

Yeah, he's one of the lesser characters in AoT. His character trait is 'smart' and 'sensitive' and that's about it. How this kid is basically able to talk the hatred out of literally a guy whose sister got eaten by dogs and both his wives killed is nearly a mystery. Nobody would know who the fuck he was. If he was that good at talking, why didn't he even attempt to fucking talk to Eren?

Nothing in the chapter made any sense. Not a single thing. I don't know how anyone could like this conclusion unless you were a drooling retard. Even if it is a fakeout, the fact Armin was able to convince all those people is beyond retarded. And that Eren just didn't instantly use his brainwashing power on them. Nothing makes sense. It just happened because Isayama wanted it to happen. I think there's honestly no point in analyzing it, because like a ton of fucking other times, shit just happens because Isayama wants it to.

Honestly, I'm not bothered by Armin being the one that saves everyone considering that's all he's done for the entire fucking series.

Who saved Eren and Mikasa from dying via giant cannon blast? Armin. Who's plans always worked when Erwin's inevitably, and obviously failed.? Armin's. Who sacrificed himself so they could get the basement? Armin. Who's actually gotten important shit done, and has fucked up the least in this entire series? Pieck Sasha Armin.

For me, it's more like "Oh, of course Armin has to save your dumbasses again. He's apparently the only that fucking can."

Well, that and how he's saved everyone in this chapter being just really, really fucking dumb.

Okay yeah, but unlike Erwin's, Armin's plans actually fucking work, and don't cause a fuckton of collateral damage.

I get what you mean, though. Armin suddenly being worshipped like a fucking God is really fucking weird. I don't know. Maybe they actually realized that besides Pieck, he's the only one with a fucking brain cell.

Yeah, true. Armin was just "Get out of situation I wrote myself into." That's all he really ever was. And Intelligence is not charisma. Armin might be smart, but he was never portrayed to me as particularly inspiring. How the fuck is he talking to these people into doing what they've literally opposed their entire lives? And even if he did, why doesn't Eren use his super Founder Titan powers?

There are so many nonsensical leaps, it just happens because it happens.

Erwin sacrificed himself to stop Zeke, it just didn't seem as noble because he took the entire fucking SC with him and Levi couldn't finish the job.

To be fair, none of the current SC are charismatic.

Besides Armin, I can't think of any of them that could even have a conversation with people outside their group besides maybe Connie, and Jean. Honestly, I think it's not really a "charisma" thing, but more of a "who can actually talk to someone without a) threatening them/terrifying them/beating them up/all of the above/etc, and b) acting like a total autist".

I know, and that's the funniest part.

>Now every dead character is in PATHs and all of them might come back to fight Eren

I'm just gonna say this right now.

If Kenny does not come back to help end this shit, then this is the worst fucking manga ever written.

I was going to add this last night before that information came out, and I fucking wish I pulled the trigger now that I know that all of these dead people are going to be in PATHs.

The best ending would be the cringe avengers win, and the last chapter is all of them being tried and hung for war crimes. As they're being hung, you see zeppelins bombing Paradis and everyone there is killed. Everyone they fought for is now either dead, or raped and dead, the world continues to war with each other, Marley gasses all the Eldians because they no longer serve a purpose without the Titans, and nobody lives happily ever after. Just a giant middle finger that everyone can just stare at in amazement. And we get to see everyone involved sitting in PATHs looking glum staring at Eren and Ymir. Eren is laughing his ass off and Ymir just sitting there with her hand on her forehead astonished these idiots didn't get it. ONE time I want to see talk no-jutsu fucking fail. Or work and lead to the bad ending.

Talk no-jutsu works, and it fucks everyone over. I just want to see it once. Just once where the tragedy/horror manga that gains popularity sticks to the fucking tags it has instead of gradually mutating in to yet another copy & paste shounen ending. Your fantasy horror tragedy manga turns in to a fucking Naruto ending. You know it's going to happen. Everyone is going to hug and laugh and cry and everything is going to be just fine. The world changes for the better and nobody learns anything from it.

Scuffed translation of chapter 137 is out
Seems Zeke wasn’t being forced by Eren into submission. He just didn’t feel like fighting back. Good to know that his Euthanasia plan went out the window because life filled with racial strife can’t be all bad if you can play catch with someone

Well, I guess we know where the inspiration for the giant walking ribcage titan came from now.

Levi: How many assholes are in the Survey Corp?
Survey Corp: YO!
Levi:.... I'm surrounded by assholes.

I would pay to see a airplane! or spaceballs version of AoT, but I think the old abridged where Mikasa says "I don't date dudes with vagina's" is as close as we got tbh.
I really hope he continues that. There hasn't been a new video in like two years but it hasn't been cancelled either.

I hate how people translate names like Ymir to "Yumiru", for fucks sake just call her Ymir. Just call Zoro "Zoro" and not "Zolo", just call Krillin "Krillin" and not "kuririn"

Edit: Oh, it seems this is a foreign translation. Not so annoying in that case.

Read Chapter 137, it wasn't as bad and seemed a little better in context but at the same time, still wished there was more development on why the other titan shifters (mainly Kruger, and Zeke's mentor because I can see a case for the others). There were also very cringeworthy panels (the one where Armin is at the center and the kneeling was really corny). This chapter was just meh with the best highlights being Zeke dying and that Jean and Reiner were beating the shit out of Eren in the end.

EDIT: Also found this video

I mean it still feels fucking retarded because all Armin is spouting is empty platitudes and then Zeke has some sort of magical revelation. But whatever. Nonsensical avengers it is then
