This is one of those GG urban legends used to discredit the whole thing, because technically there was no explicit quid pro quo, that we know of, and the articles, while they were positive coverage, were not strictly speaking reviews. The fact is, though, she had sex with numerous people who then wrote glowing "journalism" about her without ever disclosing their personal relationship, a cardinal sin in real journalism.

Black people are seen as cheap labour at best in most of Asia. I'm sure this gets plenty of coverage. That said Thailand is full of arms traffickers and Islamic militants and it's hard to avoid drug gangsters and terrorists in the Philippines so only the Vietnamese are in any position to criticise.

Given the main emerging powers are China and India and both are fairly nationalistic it won't last for long in the history of the world.

In Ireland it is because it didn't really have much of an immigrant population until recently. It's to be expected in the UK where immigration has been pretty big since the nationality act in the 1940s, and America since Johnson's 1965 immigration act. In Ireland, it flared up much faster.
