Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

On the subject, 4U frustrates the fuck out of me. It has all the components for it to be the best title in the series, but with how busted mounting as a mechanic is and how neither the Insect Glaive or the Charge Blade were properly balanced, it makes for a more boring experience.

Fatalis was also made into a complete bitch due to the nature of mounting and his significantly reduced health pool. Like yeah, his health pool back in the older games was absolutely excessive, but 4U went way too far in the other direction. (He did get an expanded move set that still makes him capable of triple carting people who aren't careful, but his vulnerability to mounting completely undermines that)

I hope one day someone is able to mod the game and adjust these issues and make that version playable online similar to how MH1-3P are now through Hunsterverse. That would be absolutely fantastic.

Until then, Freedom Unite is probably still the best in the series for me, warts and all. And I didn't start with that one.
I think Fatalis in iceborne is probably the best incarnation yet. The fight also has you use the stage properly throughout all 3 phases and he actually is fairly challenging to fight in a group or solo.

The fight was pretty insane from what I’ve watched.

Not sure how I feel about having to run to flip a gate switch to avoid death, but goddamn he looks insane to fight against.

Battletoads is probably not a good game, there’s way too many cheap deaths.
I’m not sure if very many people actually think it is. It’s mostly remembered for being absurdly difficult even for its time.

It’s in a league of “It’s so bad, it’s good” kind of games.
Battletoads was a technical marvel that blew almost everything else out of the water with its graphics, animation, interactivity, variety, everything. The difficulty is really the only drawback (if you want to look at it as such), and it was toned down for the Japanese release. Anyway, if you're still on Turbo Tunnel you've not yet earned the right to complain...

It gets intense, because running to the gate means you can't run too far out and you have to stay close and be aware of your surroundings. The first phase transition you have to run to the rubble which gets destroyed afterwards, so it kind of preps you to be familiar with the stage and where you have to be. But he is very aggressive even to the point where getting behind him is a very bad idea because he has a whole other move set that can wreck players who try to go for cheap shots.

I still don't understand why Arkham Knight's rated M when it's no worse than all the dark shit that happened in Arkham City.

Probably something to do with those jump scares or Scarecrow.

My guess would be the two instances in the story where you’re gunning people down in first person, as well as the scene where someone offs themself.

One of the Devs claimed it was the Jason Todd torture scenes that pushed it into that territory, plus the infamous scene where Batman tortures a guy with the batmobile wheel. It does feel pretty tame compared to most M rated games though

And yeah AC was pretty damn dark but most of the nasty shit happens off screen.

Most adult/mature games tend to treat it's player like children who need to be told what to do

I wonder if you mean that M-rated games tend to hold your hand to the point they treat the player like a retard, or when a M-rated game tries talk about a serious subject, they usually don't go beyond "war bad, violence bad". Either way, you're right.

Most M-rated games literally just feel like they may as well be rated T, and most times just feel as though they have swearing in them just to get a higher rating.

That's how i feel about Halo games, granted, i only played the original Halo CE, but it always felt weird how they were M-rated despite being much less violent than most other M-rated games.

Stardew Valley came out in 2016 and I have played it backwards forwards and sideways, stop saying "why does X Farming Game exist when SV exists and is better?" It's not actually all-around better than modern Story of Seasons and the graphics are uglier.
Maybe if Concerned Ape would actually make a different game instead of continually adding to what everybody already played if they were interested in it.

I'm also kind of surprised that so many people rank SV higher than Harvest Moon/SoS games. It still has a lot of the reoccurring problems from that series.
- Crops are not balanced
- The mine is too profitable
- Post game is dull (although he has been working on that)
- Marriage is shallow
- Boring festivals

The only thing that I think feels like a real improvement is the affection mechanics, where you only give two gifts a week instead of having to do it every damn day.

The 90's scene was not as good as gamers think, and the "samey" trend was just as disgusting back then as it is now.

Also, arcade game designs were far more evil than any microtransaction or pay to win scheme (and I say this as someone with fond memories of arcades).

sort of but you can also say it's moot even though arcade was difficult as fuck to eat coins, you could still beat it granted you were autistic enough, bullet hell arcades were money chompers but they are different than microtransactions because you didn't need to pay for superpowerbars and whatever, all you paid was for continues/lives.
With the whole MCU going on, not one fucking game studio could make anything like City of Heroes again. DC Universe Online fucking sucked day one and I never went back to it, because the LAST fucking person I want giving me shit is fucking Robin's gay tight wearing ass. Every other fucking super hero game was complete trash.
Then logging onto more MMO's, basic shit that CoX got down pat early on is STILL missing from the fucking games.
Every MMO that comes out is all "Ooooh, check this out!" then when you check it out, it's fucking underwhelming. Or paypig centered.
I don't know, maybe I'm getting too old to enjoy da vidya.
you are not getting old fagboy, it's the devs being safe, to make a MMORPG nowadays there's money to be made because using similar systems won't draw new players since it's pretty much a "set" market, the only way for a studio to make a thriving MMO is to make something that is better than a game, like get black desert, watch the issues, curb it and create a similar hook, one issue players have is the retarded casino rate shit koreans love so much. there is no game like black desert on the west and making a similar game that has failsafes to these retarded casino rates that you can fuck up royally if you aren't careful (grind until your balls fall off) is a safe way to steal players from BD in the west, make it with prettier butts customizable lingerie and you won't draw dedicated BD whales but you'll steal a good portion of their players...

no studio wants to do that shit because it's helluva expensive, that' why they go for the paypig with the underwhelming thing, check new meme and what amazon is doing with it.
Is that video worth watching? The level of soy expressed in that video is cringe inducing.

He can have his fag fantasies he wants. All i want are attractive and intressting female characters. Fuck the lesbian or the rat faced bitch.
they say it's a engine fault and frostbite goes for "realistic faces", but i recall some kiwi saying it was because her face template is fucked-up on DA-I, on DA2 she is fairly decent for a tomboy, it's obvious it's sjw decisioning at work, Varric and Hawke had no appearance change even though "it's been a while" from DA2 to DAI.

still a unpopular opinion about video games is that it breeds faggotry. be it online or be it singleplayer, fags will exist and plague the game like some aggressive cancer, SP we have the die hard-hardcore fags that usually will become speedrunners, on online we got competitivefags that will want a game to have tournament shit where the retard that repeats the same thing faster wins, and they will whine at any change no matter what because it fucks em up and it also fucks their chance of having their egos rubbed or in online case, money making chance. yet they will still play the game regardless because they are fags after all. considering my personal experience observing shit like dark souls and AVA-DOGTAG, you should never, ever, in no fucking way in hell, listen to these fuckers or you are bound to fail and fail HARD, they will sink you and think you are in the wrong still.

I remember critics bashing Trio of Towns for not being Stardew Valley. Which sucks because Trio of Towns blows Stardew Valley out of the water in almost every way. Hell even the FoMT remake wasn’t safe from the “why play this when SV is better?” complaints.

Speaking of Story of Seasons the newest game just came out and apparently it has a shitload of issues and is shallow as hell. Even Japanese players are unhappy and replying to official tweets with their grievances.
