What were we at a week ago, 80?Dear God, we’re at 100 pages now....
Yes.What were we at a week ago, 80?
A long time ago I read a skip about an SCP that is a enormously large sea creature either hibernating or passively moving through the ocean, and containment was focused around misinformation campaigns. That one stuck with me for some reason, I don't know if it's actually any good but I remember liking itSince we're at Page 100, why don't we talk about SCPs that we do like/enjoy mildly? One of my favorites has to be the Japanese vending machine that dispenses different shit depending on how much yen is inserted into it.
It just shows what shits they are to throw in II. I hadn't thought about it in such detail because I don't care, but you goddamn well know some poli sci nerd in the SCP hierarchy came up with this bullshit. They overdesigned a voting system to guarantee a win on a policy proposal that they are already guaranteed to win.
For me, they're all in the /x/ period. Do they have four digits? Fuck them, except for a very few of the 1xxx series.Since we're at Page 100, why don't we talk about SCPs that we do like/enjoy mildly?

This is a personal favorite of mine. It's short, has an interesting concept, does something interesting with said concept, and has some interesting implications.Since we're at Page 100, why don't we talk about SCPs that we do like/enjoy mildly? Trying to get an archive of that page but holy fuck the queue on archive.md is long right now. Will edit when it finishes. On mobile, so I can't archive ATM, but a recent article about Chinese history pissed off a bunch of bugmen.

You don't have to keep the window open for the archive to complete. If you just queue it up and copy the link it'll get around to it eventually. You can delete theSorry to double-post, but I've decided that I'm not doing this. The queue for archive.md is over 5000 pages long, and it's going down very slowly. I'd be here for hours trying to grab this. Does anyone know a way around this? This is my primary archiving tool, so if it's unusable there's a problem.
/wip/
portion of the link if you want. Like I just got https://archive.li/wip/wF95Z from queueing up the URL in your other post, but when it's done it'll also show up at https://archive.li/wF95ZAlright, cool. You don't have to keep the window open for the archive to complete. How convenient that authorial control is only important when it doesn't make things difficult.Wrong think correction by kaktus

Well of course author control is important! ....just not enough to give an author control of their work. How convenient that authorial control is only important when it doesn't make things difficult.

Actually, it’s a story of the gatekeepers outliving their usefulness but deciding they like the power the gate gives them and sticking around long past the point of being helpful. The story of SCP as a writing project seems to be a cautionary tale of what happens when you don't gatekeep your communities and eventually those without artistic standards overwhelm those with artistic standards.
