I would posit that his attacks on old folktales and heroes is another one of his backhanded dismissals of national identity. He has said that he wants to move intona post-national world and these tales are very specific to their nations as a source of pride and culture. He's basically saying "Robin Hood, Gilgamesh, Hercules? So what? The Hulk and Iron Man are the same thing really." He wants it to be to the point where capeshit made by transnational corporations can cancel out these old traditional stories and errode one more bit of nationalism. It also partly explains why he has so much disdain for Zach Snyder's King Arthur project that's supposed to be more faithful.

It's just bullshit.

Thinkers - People like Him, who are calm, logical and science-driven in their every move, thus they are the future and practically living demigods.

Believers - Everyone else, These "people" are ignorant, dumb and accept no truths except what's in their heads and conforms to their biases and are therefore evil, backwards and destructive.

Funny thing, Bob's refusal to accept anything outside liberal/corporatist dogma means that by his own rules, he is a believer, who thinks he's a thinker, and will never notice the bitter, bitter, irony.

I brought this up in the TDS thread, but isn't the whole point of a dogwhistle that it's a coded message to signal support without explicitly stating it? Seems to me that a dogwhistle that's apparently so patently obvious to the unintended audience pretty much defeats the purpose. I think the Pattinson Batman isn't concerned about fitting in with trends (though it looks to draw from Se7en the way Nolan drew from Heat) and hopefully like Joker the derivative nature doesn't get in the way of being an entertaining and compelling movie. After seeing The Lighthouse and Good Time I'm interested to see what Pattinson can do with the role.

interestingly enough, after looking at the wikipedia article on Apophenia, it mentions that psychedelic drugs make it easier to see things/connections that aren't there. Heck, even morphine (4 days of it) makes Pareidolia (a subset of Apophenia) easier to percieve - like patterns/faces in leaves on trees - (you see it INSTANTLY, and you can't turn it off, lol).

But what's really interesting is Apophenia's connection to schizophrenia. Now, I dunno if Bob has any mental disorders/disabilities (other than autism but hell, maybe autism assists in perceptions of this kind), but it's not exactly coincidental that Bob's less mentally well senpais and angels see "dog whistles" everywhere and Bob for the most part is probably just following along, listening and believing(tm).

for one time that I got day surgery, they gave me tylenol and oxycodone prior to surgery. Once I woke up and shook off the anasthetic, I felt GREAT, i was in no pain at all (my default setting is constant pain of varying degrees due to stupid fibromyalgia/lyme/whatever). Like, best I've felt in a long time. Like almost as if I hadn't just had surgery. Felt completely lucid and not impaired in any way. Didn't attempt to do math or anything, though, but I did go online and was able to type coherently and shit. And it was only ONE dose; I did not get further doses after that.

But yeah, I can see how and why that shit's so easy to get hooked on. So when Bob makes fun of people who get hooked on Oxy, he really obviously hasn't a fucking clue what he's talking about.

How in the Hell did the sister turn out normal? All three were raised by the same neglectful parents and grew up in the same house full of trash, yet shes skinny and dressed normally. Even Chris in these photos looks like somewhat normal.
