This is the perfect example of polyamory. The guy at the start can't give proper attention to either girl, then the girls focus on eachother and he's left on the sidelines while they dance. Poly does not work, you can only truly focus on one thing at a time. It's sad to think these people probably sat some kind of exam in school and told someone to stop distracting them so they can focus on the "important" test. But your partner? Perhaps this is elsewhere in the thread, but the go-to book on polyamory, More Than Two, was in part written by someone who emotionally abused and manipulated their partners. Since this came to light after the book was published and recommended all over the internet as the bible of polyamory, a bunch of people inadvertently adopted a lot of the abusive patterns into their own relationships. Here's a post from one of the authors explaining this.

I think for me a couple of the big key points were the financial abuse, which I didn’t recognize at the time. For one, I was flying down there every month, and he wasn’t making any money because he was working for Spectrum. And it was always, “Oh, I’m going to come up and see you when I have money.”
But if we wanted to go out to eat, if we wanted to do anything while I was there, I had to pay for it. And so it got to the point of, “Well, I can’t come down there, but I can fly you up.” So I flew him up to my city a whole bunch of times and then he would mention, “Oh, I’m going to go see all these other people while I’m here.” This was super irritating when I was the one who flew him up, so we could have quality time—but if I mentioned it, I was “trying to control” or being jealous.

I don't think that's financial abuse. Pretty sure that's just you being a pay piggy, Paula.
