Pokémon (Not-So) Griefing Thread - Scarlet and Violet Released with 10 Million Copies in First 3 Days in Buggy States

I am a huge Golden Sun fan but I will be one of the first to admit that plot was horribly generic and I remember people hating the amount of text and cutscenes back in the day. And don’t get me started on Dark Dawn.

Cyber Sluth having a better plot than Pokemon isn’t a high bar to clear and to be honest it’s story isn’t anything amazing. I almost dropped it around chapter 5 (the chapter where you are forced to help out some occult club autists over something that had nothing to do with Digimon) because the game stopped feeling like a Digimon game and more like a generic modern animu jrpg. Even after chapter 10 where the general consensus among fans is where it gets good it still didn’t shake off the “generic jrpg with Digimon thrown in” feeling.

we get it you actual autistic faggot, you hate pokemon since the core "catch em all" monster collector shit isn't 'gameplay' and any semblance of plot or character in the games isn't 'gameplay' to you either. go back to jacking your dick to tifa lockheart already since you clearly don't enjoy anything this series offers.

And you doesn't even seem to like competitive either so i genuinely don't know what the fuck you're here for.

For example Digimon Cyber Sleuth, which is often sucked off by people and praised as a good alternative to Pokemon, is ten times worse than any modern Pokemon game put together in terms of characters interrupting you, cutscene density, horrible pacing issues and linearity and railroading that makes even SwSh look more open. No joke it took me a half hour of cutscenes and walls of text before I even got a chance to meet my starter Digimon and actually play the damn game.
Which is wierd bc I fucking love Cyber Sleuth's story but could care less for SuMo/SwSH's story. I'm not sure why that is. But then again I'm used to Fire Emblem and Xenoblade so...

The one thing I remember about Cybersleuth is that the outdoor areas badly needed some background music. They were so damn quiet.

Also that the hot lady was actually a digimon and the bad guy essentially talked himself into giving up.

Oh, and the dude friend was using the line of evil digimon from that movie who were stopped by spam email.

I hope they make the admins hotter in dp remake...
I can't wait for Twitterfags to suddenly whine about Jupiter's left thigh being exposed means it's misogynistic after all these years. Or even wishing she and Mars would be confirmed lesbian lovers for that matter.

Then again, she's not even vaguely POC in looks, they might not screech about it.

Oh god, a partly exposed thigh? Absolute territory? I'm gonna... I'm gonna coom!

i actually did see someone shriek about it but it was a Pokemon Special fan crying about the way she was drawn in a panel. Yet again the Pokespe fanbase is infested with teenage and early 20 something SJWs who constantly bitch that both the writer and the artists are sexist for stupid reasons,

Holy shit wtf did I just walk back into lol
Also every time I see someone whine about the “overexessive” cutscenes of gen 5 and other modern Pokemon games I highly doubt they’ve played other jrpgs or general rpgs outside of the series. The amount of text and interruptions in even SuMo are pitifully low compared to other games.
My problem with 3d era Pokemon cutscenes wise is that it's characters are so kiddy pool tier shallow that it just feels like you just have the same cutscene with them over and over (especially the rivals). I will agree The Black and White games worked, but honestly it feels like they keep trying to make pale imitations of Unova for every gen after it, Completely missing how BW doing so much new shit was what made Gen 5 stand out and such a fascinating set of games.
I haven't played Cyber Sluth but as someone who has indulged in countless JRPGS since his youth, post BW Pokemon feels like it takes the most amount of time to say the least amount of shit in any JRPG I am familiar with. And to top that off they usually leave the more interesting parts of the narrative (like say AZ and the Thousand Year war) off to the side.
I hope this doesn't come off as dismissive to your point, just found your post spurred on that interesting line of thought for me.

No don’t worry I totally see where you are coming from. Most of my post was aimed at people complaining about gen v having too many cutscenes, despite all of them being a set of text boxes and actual cinematic cutscenes being rare. I feel like that is the best approach for story telling in a Pokemon game. The plot and characters got more development in that approach than the next generations did in big cutscenes.

Also the post BW games try too hard to base their non Japanese regions off like the real world areas they are inspired by. While BW was clearly based off of the New York area the only blatant parts were Nimbasa and Castelia. Having lived in NY my entire life I never once felt like it was just a theme park based off of it. BW also takes parts of New Jersey and Long Island into its design, making Unova feel more like its own thing.

As for Cyber Sleuth that game is an even worse offender of taking the most amount of time to say the least amount of things than any post BW game.

You're taking "competitive" pokemon seriously and you expect a serious reply to that? It's hacking in pokemon and then guessing if your opponent switches or not. It's not a serious competitive anything and only a sad lonely fuck would take it seriously.
Well you need to make a difference between the official vgc tournament by nintendo, online and smogon. Double format, legendary allowed + no hack. I think the format is highly uncompetitive because you need to farm good Iv and some Uber legendary are allowed (imagine an heavyweight fighting at middleweight).
But it's the only format where you get recognision so some autist love this and take this too seriously.

Then there is smogon which is a simulator so no need to farm Iv's and Ev's. It depend on the tier and gen but it's quite fun and easy to learn. Just learn types, roles, the basic of team composition and like the 15 most used mons in the tier and your good.It can be autistic at time but all in all it's in good fun.

Calling it a cut scene or whatever doesn't change that the issue exists. The best approach to pokemon story telling is to avoid it until the final act outside of fighting a couple of minor side missions. The way gen 3 deals with story is the model they should be copying where it's a minor side mission and then the plot ramps up as the teams plots become active. What it shouldn't be is 4 of the 5 starting hours be innane and dull characters no ones interested in except for pedos drawing lolicon telling you that pikachu exists, they really love pikachu and they can't wait to catch all the pikachus.

No, same shit. Comparing boxers to competitive pokemon players is all you need to do to see how dumb and shallow it is. Knowing a basic type chart and looking up the meta is enough to be competitive in pokemon battling. Boxers have to train years, constantly keep their fitness up and their weight in check and make it a daily part of their routine for years to be competitive. One of these is impressive, the others the Smash crowd wanting to pretend they're hot shit because they know to use ice beam on dragonite or surf on charizard.

I was saying that legendary uber mons are like HW boxers and the other are middleweight.
Legendary uber mons are in a class of their own they should not compete with other mons. Just as a Hw should compete in his own division.

My bad tho you are kinda retarded

Legendary pokemon battling is no different to baby cup pokemon battling. You pick the super effective move for the current target or the target you think your opponent will switch into. Maybe you have a set up move or two before you go on the rape train. It's insulting to take it seriously.
