This is the kind of CGI that works in anime. I think it's because they got the budget to do so since it'll be released all at once and had some good talent involved so it was just luck, but many studios that implement this style are bum-rushed and they slap on weird toon-cel textures that throw off the lighting, and it makes them stick out like a sore thumb. The kaiju appear to be more alien than expected, but the amount of detail presented to them in terms of realism is super impressive and complements the rest of the composition. What snippets we're seeing of them shows their movements are to be expected from hulking monsters (and machinery), but they still are on the same plane of existence as the animated human characters and backgrounds. The visual style on display here is way more appealing than the 3D style Polygon employed for the anime trilogy.
It's gonna get a TV broadcast on April 1st, so hard to say what the plan is.I didn't realize Singular Point was coming out in Japan on the 25th! Its like...right around the corner and shit!
Do we have an official date on when it will hit Netflix in the US?
Jet Jaguar looks pretty legit in this.New trailer for Godzilla: Singular Point has dropped:
The visual style on display here is way more appealing than the 3D style Polygon employed for the anime trilogy. The monsters look amazing to me and this looks like a Godzilla animation project that will fully take advantage of the animation medium to present the monsters.
So, fingers crossed! It continues to look promising.
Holy shit, it's gonna look wicked in the movie.![]()
From the new toy line
I can't put my finger on it, but the design isn't doing it for me.Holy shit, it's gonna look wicked in the movie.
Honestly, MechaGodzilla always looks derpy as a toy. When you see it in action is when it's awesome, so I'm assuming the same can be said about Legendary's MechaGodzilla.I can't put my finger on it, but the design isn't doing it for me.
My gut says not to like it, but my brain can't figure out why.
So frustrating.
Fair point.Honestly, MechaGodzilla always looks derpy as a toy. When you see it in action is when it's awesome, so I'm assuming the same can be said about Legendary's MechaGodzilla.
I get the concern, was wondering about that, too. But I definitely do believe this is meant to be a prototype most likely funded by Jonah and his eco-terrorist group to be used as some kind of weapon, so its design is going to be rough. It's been, what, the first time since the Showa era that MechaGodzilla is being used for villainous purposes?Fair point.
I think my apprehension is that I'm getting a Bayformers vibe from it.
Also logical tech power creep from KOTM super plane thingy and whatever super carrier Godzilla and Kong fight on in the trailer.I get the concern, was wondering about that, too. They never did fire the guns from the underwater base in KOTM, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they were laser cannons.
I didn't think that Legendary would go full Maser Cannon, but here we are.View attachment 1987103
They're one of many Maser Cannon weapons in the Godzilla series, so possibly.
