You realize you're contradicting yourself? "Ian doesn't make his beliefs public since being famous"

"I haven't seen Ian say etc"

He's admitted to being a member of the John Brown gun club, the fact that he's a massive fucking autist with a bunch of equally autistic fanboys who bend over backwards to defend him from any criticism doesn't change the basic fact that he wouldn't be doing videos with someone as insufferable as Karl if they didn't have a lot in common. Like we both agree on, he just keeps his politics to himself now. If it was hard confirmed he was a leftist, he'd lose a lot of the retards that worship him.
I thought the John Brown Gun Club quote was a photoshop from some /pol/ and/or /k/ gayop.

I've heard that claimed before but I also know people who've met him in person before he got famous that've said he kind of leans left. Also been told he was a major asshole at matches. Anecdotal obviously but then again no reason to lie. No one in my friend or professional group really gives a shit about FW, Ian, or YouTubers in general.

It’s literally in @Trig.Point ‘s OP for this very fucking thread:

I created this thread back in January to ask a question about screenshot that were kicking around on 4chan supposedly showing posts from Ian McCollum of Forgotten weapons.

View attachment 1085923

These were photoshopped, but the constant rumours eventually resulted in a story that McCollum had become head of security for the CHAS in Seattle.

This got a reaction of sorts from Ian, and he posted this.

After that, the thread quickly became dominated by discussion Ian's former partner Karl Kasarda who will one day I'm sure have his own thread on Kiwi Farms.

It's also included Sinistral Rifleman's falling out with Something Awful. Questions about IV8888's schilling, as well doubts about Mark Novak's Gun Smithing ability.

Any suggestions for edits to the OP feel free to message me.

His claim was that the screenshot of the comment where Ian supposedly said he was with the John Brown Gun Club was photoshopped, which I’m inclined to believe, since he came out hard about the similar rumors about him being at CHAZ.

If you have him on tape saying otherwise about John Brown, please share.

Leans left doesn’t necessary mean he is a John Brown Gun Club member. Ian could just be a classical liberal. And yeah I’ve heard the exact opposite and heard he is a nice guy albeit a little socially awkward.

This. It's rather funny to see people wildly speculate on Ian's politics based on hearsay and /k/ memes.

The truth is likely that his politics are not all that interesting. He's a successful, happy, healthy, married guy in his 30s(?). How many married successful Gen X guys do you know that are uber-political spergs? There are exceptions of course, but I have not seen any indications to the contrary, nor can anyone point to anything aside from the South Africa comment ("white genocide" is not exactly a mainstream issue, either) and his willingness to engage with people about the realities of gun ownership in other countries or the realities of how the ATF functions here in the US (which is good info for collectors and not an endorsement of the agency or those policies)

Seems like a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation for him - He could explain his political views and lose viewership either way, or he could not elaborate on his political views and have people decide what his views are for him (phenomenon I have seen in this thread and elsewhere). I get the sense that he would rather be damned if he didn't, which is perfectly fine to me. Even including info about pending current gun legislation would date his videos dependent on whether those laws would or would not pass. Seems reasonable to me to just leave that up to people who run different sorts of channels more concerned with/centered on US gun culture (your MACs and IV1888s and such)

EDIT - The Gunbroker listings have been sabotaged (archive) - This comes during a time when popular items are targeted by repeat offenders raising the price and not following through on purchases; Gunbroker does not step in when it comes to these fraudulent attempts.

Military Arms Channel is creating more waves in the gun community with the Hungarian SVD ripoff copy.

So apparently a member of the AK Forums was working with an importer to deal with an investment firm that purchased weapons production/licensing from the now pacified FEG(who now makes HVAC equipment and such). They offered information throughout the process, as well as a potential buyer list for the first run of ~100.
But here's where the retardation steps in.

Tim isn't completely wrong. There was no buyer list - that was a list of people interested in buying the rifles. The aforementioned poster recommended FEG sell to them, specifically, as an act of good will to get their guns back onto the market.

The part where Tim fucked up is putting five of the six guns on Gunbroker to let the market decide the price, during a pandemic where scalpers and panicbuying reigns supreme. This essentially curbstomped enthusiasm in the project and in prospective buyers by elevating Hungarian copies of an arguably shitty Russian DMR to a near unobtainable status.

I think Karl's attitude has always been to help build support for the second amendment among groups that wouldn't otherwise support it. Which isn't a bad idea. Atun Shei's audience are all leftie types and in fairness he did his best to promote gun rights to them.
But they don't even care about gun rights and never would, because they want to be the only ones who can own guns in the first place.
I very much think bearing arms is an intrinsic human right, but at the same time, a lot of lefty types weren't being particularly responsible with their guns last year, which is why I can see a lot of resistance to the notion.
At the same time, if you don't make bearing arms more normal, you also make it less normal for yourself to bear arms.

MAC apparently has about 50 of them, that he's gonna start to slowly auction off in small batches. Apparently he's gonna sell/loan/give one to Rob Ski though. He's also writing off all the people who are mad as butthurt poors.

Current plans seem to be instead selling them at a fixed price(5% discount for Patreon subscribers) on Copper Custom's website.

Price is hardly ever the issue(beyond being more expensive than even more scarce guns) and more to do with being a retard and posting them on gunbroker after buying them from an importer who offered more money than they had to.

You didn't make enough from the BigDaddy and Senora Desert Institute sponsorships, Tim? MAC has always been the bottom of the barrel of gun channels. I'd rather watch Demo Ranch.

MAC is being a huge slimy piece of shit but we all knew he was. The amount of butthurt in the comments from him replying to people calling him out is delicious, though.

MAC talking about "hard work" when he didn't do a damn thing. One guy on AKFiles spent 3 fucking years trying to get these imported and MAC is nothing but a scalper. This is a worse reaction than his usual screeching about antisemitism when people call him an IWI shill (which he is).
The GB auction shit is 100% just MAC taking advantage of the lucrative market for imports on GB right now. WASRs selling for $1k+, Saigas $3k, it's insane what boomers are paying for rifles that they think will soon be import banned (which includes guns that have been import banned for years already...) so MAC is capitalizing on it. Bottom feeder move.

Shill or no shill, scalping or no scalping, the idea you could get an SVD in the US for less than retard money is hilarious.

The laws of the universe won't allow it, why did anyone think it'd happen?
