Oh god, that comment. I'm so absolutely baffled by it. I've been very open that I will take any and all criticism about my list because I want to improve and with how much information I juggle, sometimes things slip through the cracks. I add, remove, and edit things constantly based on comments and new information, as people bring things to my attention and after thinking about it, sometimes I agree with them and fix it. Case and point, you Omnipotent, are a total asshole and complained about the formatting for the 2019 summary. But you were right, it was terrible, so I changed that up and I feel like the Controversy Lists and the 2020 summary are much better off because of it. So thanks for the feedback.
Man it's almost like taking feedback and criticism, even when it stings, can actually IMPROVE something you care about.
Nah I kid, I kid. Even though it might come off a bit abrasive, none of the criticism lobbied against you was meant as a discouragement or a slight against what you were doing. On the contrary, without your insistence on cataloging everything (even before you joined the Farms), a lot of shit would be completely lost to time. But I only said that because I knew if I wasn't going to do it, someone was gonna use that as a way to completely discredit the thing. And thank God you listened, cuz let's be real: with all the shit you're getting now, it would probably be
ten times worse if it stayed formatted like that; making the Lovelies go full-on rage mode that such a blatant hater would type up
this blind filth, this degenerate heresy against the Grumps, just look at how irrationally angrily he types!!!. Just completely incapable of self-awareness in any way.
Speaking of:
That being said, I don't understand the complaints of this person's comment. I honestly tried to be as unbiased as possible. I wrote and rewrote the information on Ben, BLM, the deleting of "problematic" videos, Arin's potential tax fraud, among other things, so many times to be as neutral as it could be. But apparently I focused to much on them and not enough on the positives. Here's the thing though, I can't make up information. If there's not a lot of positives, that's not my fault, it's the Grumps. And for the positives I did mention, I apparently didn't say enough? Here are three positives taken from the list:
Arpeegees wave 2 releases
Suzy makes it onto AnthonyPadilla's "I spent a day with GOTHS"
Arin animates for the first time in several years to promote a Game Gyaru shirt
Realistically, without padding these statements, what other information can I add to them?
What I think they expect from you is to go through the entirety of the Grumps' back catalogue of episodes and other social media because, while the controversies make up a lot of the content of shit they've done as a collective, you're missing out on "the good that shines through these videos", and that you may be (or for some outright are) are arguing in bad faith, misrepresenting them and nitpicking things that don't matter...despite the fact that several other YouTubers/outlets who've covered the Grumps have used your list to showcase this stuff to other people, and despite some of the shit they've been doing leaning heavily towards, if not being borderline illegal or dangerous, really shitty behavior.
(Which just makes it even more confusing when this stuff is called unsubstantiated rumors when others have done the extra legwork to showcase examples from your list, but at this point, given how fucking vague everything is surrounding the Grumps, I can't even really blame them for assuming the worst.)
The problem with that is A.) No rational person has got the time - nor the effort - to do that, other than people who so, so obsessed with the Grumps and their daily routine that they need to check their stuff every day and throw wads of money at them. And/or those same people who autistically catalog and stalk every single detractor they've ever come across. Even the people in this thread don't care this much; like I said, there's stuff in your summaries that just straight-up
never got talked about on here that somehow got lost in the shuffle.
And B.) Even when you do do that, you find a lot of the controversies bleed over into the content directly anyways. Or in the case of Jimmy and Franklin, Soviet Jump Game, Ross's levels, and that shitty book by "Arin's uncle", is literally just part of the content they put out on the daily anyways, hence the massive drop-off in viewers. And yet because the only ones left ARE the crazy people in Column A, you're just left having to constantly yell at a brick wall hoping for answers. And when the brick wall somehow talks to you and gives you those answers, it's still not good enough. Because they simply don't wanna be disturbed. Personally, I think even trying to reason with Lovelies is futile at this point, but that doesn't make it any less fun watching them flail about over someone just showing them
a fact.
I asked the person for feedback and I didn't get a response. Which is no surprise to me because anytime there has been a complaint about my lists, it's been one singular thing that somehow discredits the entire list, and when I ask for more feedback they either refuse, say they will then don't, get aggressive, or simply don't respond. But hey, I did listen. They complained about Real Good Touring hosting Unus Annus final stream not being on the list, so I put it on, had to delete a couple things, but I made it fit, as well as the complaint that Arin streamed ShuffleMaster during it. That's what you wanted right?
That's the ironic thing, isn't it? The fanbase is so fucking erratic and irrational in an effort to protect anything even remotely surrounding the Grumps that you don't even really need to do anything other than do what they ask and watch them scramble, or just reflect the Grumps', and their own, words back at them.
All they'd have to do is acknowledge that maybe the Grumps fuck up from time to time, and understand why people don't like watching them anymore. But they take such a massive offense to that that they go out of their way to be as obnoxious and psychopathic about it as possible.
And I STILL DON'T KNOW WHY. What is it about fuckin'
Egoraptor, of all people, that compels them to act like this? I've seen K-pop stans that are more reasonable, and they're
K-pop stans.
