Oscar Wilde described the Middle Class as those who have to buy their silver.(as opposed to inheriting) Perhaps Troons are those who have to buy their pearls.I live in the South and I've seen some younger women pull it off, but they are the "debutante at cotillion" type that exude class, grace, and femininity, not a lumbering man in a dress from Ross. They certainly know the appropriate time and place to wear pearls and they have most likely been passed down from the matriarch of the family. It's not something they view as an accoutrement of womanhood like Rhys and other troons, it's just another accessory to complement their outfit.
