Battletech - Also known as Trannytech

Ouch. Nothing you can do when you get cored in the engine like that. Hope you at least got salvage rights to the poor thing.
I actually made more parting it out than what the whole car was worth. I took that money and bought ANOTHER muscle car that got wrecked.... However, I wasn't the one driving that time.

Proof salvage rights pay off :p

I am gonna restrain myself on car sperging about this.

But, my last BT game night, let me tell you, everyone mocks the Albatross, for good reasons, but the named one 5W. is so fucking stupid on TT. It's not a "steal" but I ran one since I have a painted ALB already.

That's an ER PPC with a capacitor, a Large VSP laser, two ER MedLas, two Medium Pulses, an ER small laser and a Laser AMS to boot.

I'm pretty sure that design alone ran the Word of Blake out of double heatsinks.

So, was having a good time with this one, and am now p stuck on a mission where I gotta stop a bunch of school buses, but there are barrels and turrets and like fifty bad guys... Medusa and MC don't have enough turns to one-shot everything one at a time.

I take it real life put the kibosh of the LP?

Liberation: Panzyr?

If so get your fastest mech with JJs to sneak to the command center run the others in. ez pz. Get the SRM carriers out first when you kill Vee's.

So I went on Etsy and found a seller with some 3D printer minis for honestly good prices; $6 per model plus $10 total shipping, plus he's based out of my home country of Canuckistan. Ordered me an Urbie, a Hunchback, a Fafnir and the glorious Archer flipping the enemy off that I posted a while ago. Once they come in and I paint them, I'll be sure to post my Donegal Guard based army.

Also, have to fight the urge to not paint the Archer in Taurian colours. The model just screams "Get the fuck out of the Periphery!"

I guess sooner or later I'll have to order some of those Etsy mechs, too.

They ripped the models straight from MWO and BT, so there are a few gems there. Wouldn't mind an Enforcer, Vindicator, Nightstar and a few others tbh.

Also, damn. I ordered the Command Lance and Battle Lance sets mid November, still waiting for their release. I really hope they'll come out by the end of the month.

Whenever you do, look up ScottyBoyShop. Has a bigger selection of 3D printed models, and was $4-6 cheaper per model compared to his competitors.

And has anyone checked out the April Fools TRO? The flavour text for the mechs is a great laugh.

Yeah, when I looked at the Etsy-stuff, I stumbled over his shop. Seems okay, I just wonder how the mechs compare to the IWM and the new Catalyst ones. You don't necessarily need small details for a 1.5inch tall TT model that you see from like a foot away, but it's certainly nice to have them.

I don't own any 3d models yet I'll have to give some a whirl. I guess me being A: a grog B: busy C: retarded I never thought anyone was selling 3d prints yet people just did em for fun and learning 3d printers.

It seems they even sell them in Museum-scale (about 20cm tall) which is certainly a nice thing. Maybe I'll buy one of those sometime in the future, too.

Well my Etsy order of mechs showed up and I painted them last night. Since I have them all painted, here's what they look like with the box set units. Paint scheme is technically Donegal Guards, but I added some liberal use of of P3 Frostbite

Debating on getting something to do ground textures around the feet, but we'll see.

Kind of cracking up that the Fafnir is smaller than the Battlemaster and the Awesome. Smaller than... a lot of the others actually.

Also noticing the ones that use FlyingDebris' models have the green bases.

It's the smallest of the assault mechs, but when standing next to the other ones, it's still taller than the others, ignoring the LRM hatches being open mind you. The perspective and angle just throws it off a bit. And the bases were 3D printed too. The vendor seemed to prefer that plastic for the bases he sells.
