The Trial of Derek Chauvin - Judgement(?) Day(?) has arrived!

Well, we've finally made it. Derek Chauvin has finally appeared in court for third degree murder in the Death of George Floyd. People have been talking about making a separate thread for the trial itself instead of keeping it contained in the thread dedicated to riots that might come from it, so here you go.

Anyway, the case most likely relies on if the knee was the thing that directly led to Floyd dying, contributed to it, or was a result of a bunch of drugs (namely Fentanyl) that can fuck you up real good.

Also, there's the part where George Floyd may be what you call a "career criminal" or at the very least he's known to swallow his drug stash to get out of a possession charge. Probably add that to the defense's case as well, along with anything else that could be argued as "Derek Chauvin kneeing George Floyd did not directly kill him, or even contributed to it".

I think I got everything. If this is closed early by mods, I'll probably leave making a separate thread to someone else.

The thing the defense attorney said that was new and fascinating is that after passing the fake 20, Floyd went to the car and took two pills that he thought were Percocet and they were formed to look like Percocet, but the pills were actually fentanyl and meth.

His friends who were in the car with Floyd are expected to testify to this, and to further say that Floyd was nodding off in the car before the cops got there.

The PD found chewed pills in the back of the squad car with Floyd's spit on it.

So Floyd hadn't intended to take either meth or fentanyl.

And I can see how getting a surprise dose of meth could absolutely contribute to a freak out.

The opening statement for the defense was only 25 minutes, and it's worth watching.

Then he was falling asleep to the point his passenger was calling someone else for a ride. And then there's all the evidence of the drugs he consumed and the drugs found in Floyd's vehicle.

This first witness doesn't really help prosecution at all. They made it seem like she was horrified by what she saw in in the news coverage before she got on stand but from her testimony she was just giving the police Sergeant a heads up that something was going down.

I think the toxicology report will have major influence in the trial.
Chauvin will likely be found guilty of negligence, and the murder charge dropped.
There will be incredibly intense rioting nationwide, regardless of the outcome.
MSM will spin rhetoric of how the "American Justice System is broken, and this trial proves it", salt, tears, and the United States will be further divided.

EDIT 3/31/21:
After watching three days of trial, I'm confident Chauvin will be acquitted.
I pray for mercy upon Minneapolis and major cities. Unprecedented rioting is on the horizon.

The "freak out" was his standard when he got arrested with drugs on him, including calling for his mother and saying he can't breathe.
He did it in a prior arrest on camera.

The Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown cases both happened with Obama in office, the media will hang Chauvin out to dry even if there's a Democrat in Washington. Things like fomenting the race war and pushing a de-policing narrative supersede party loyalty with the media.

Not a great angle for the Defense to take because it looks like attacking the victim. One important thing I brought up earlier is that Floyd had the Kung Flu as well. The Defense can easily argue that Floyd did the exact same thing as in 2019, and Chauvin's actions were irrelevant because this time around Floyd's lungs/heart were ravaged by COVID. This works out better because juries like to lay blame, and instead of saying Floyd rolled the dice and lost the defense can pin it all on the plague that most of the NPCs on the jury are convinced is the most lethal virus in history.

What also came up in the Defense opening statement is that Floyd thought his pills were Percocet, but in reality those pills were meth and fentanyl. This is great, because now that is another element that puts the blame on someone that isn't Floyd or Chauvin. See, it wasn't that Chauvin is an evil honkey, or Floyd is a suicidal thug - the problem is that someone fed the poor dindu a poison!
