How will Bob react to seeing the Mario film?

I can understand being upset at a poor adaption of an existing work, I myself just can't get angry over it. Life is too short to get mad over the plots/creative decisions of films/books/games to such an extent I see fellow nerds do.

Like the end of GOT was a disaster, a huge fucking shitshow, but I don't care about it anymore. One bad TV show doesn't impact my life at all.

Anyways I will stop talking about this. It is off-topic.
My strategy is to not identify with corporate IPs to the point where you're emotionally damaged by a subpar entertainment product, and to keep in mind that if something sucks, there are a million other things out there to enjoy.
Why did they put a female Ratcatcher in the new SS movie?

If you want another female for diversity sake, why not go with a canonically female villain, instead of gender-swapping some random Z-lister?
Apparently, the character in this film is actually known as Ratcatcher 2. Some have speculated that it's because she's the apprentice of the original character.
Journos continue to play dirty and the Capitol rioters cannot get crowdfunded. Bobby rejoices:

Bob unironically believes this.

I'll add this to the talk about FF7 and the Nintendo sour grapes over how the N64 failed as badly as it did. FF7 was the turning point where Nintendo fans realized that third party groups were abandoning the N64 for the PS, but Nintendo stans didn't 100% realized how fucked shit was until Nintendo (who spent YEARS saying a Disk Drive attachment platform was coming at long last and that Zelda was going to be the flagship title for it) said "sorry suckers! no disk drive add-on for you!" and released a Zelda game that while great, was overhyped as the second coming and Nintendo producing a game that would compete with the very best that Sony was putting out on the Playstation.

Indeed, if you were just playing the Game Boy/Game Boy Color, 1996-2002 wasn't THAT bad in so far as the Game Boy keeping high quality going plus Pokemon (which IIRC, made so much money for Nintendo and boosted GB/GBC sales to such a degree, that it papered over a LOT of the failures of the N64 getting clobbered by the PS/PS2). But Square going to Sony kicked off a huge downward spiral that climaxed with the disk drive being canceled as far as Nintendo losing fans left and right until the Gamecube began the slow climb out of the ruins the N64 left them in.
To say nothing about how third-party Nintendo stalwarts like Capcom and Konami bailed on Nintendo 64 at the same time as Squaresoft. For Odin's sake, Capcom released Mega Man 8 and X4 on the Sega Saturn, which was a distant third to the PS1 and N64. I am actually intermittently working on an alternate history where Ron Perelman never acquires Marvel and Jim Shooter and his investors's bid to buy the house of ideas succeeds. One of the major divergences is that Sony teams up with Sega to produce an alternate Saturn with similar specs to the PS1. I've only gotten to 1996 so far, but that timeline's Sonic the Hedgehog 4 killed Super Mario 64's momentum.

I'm toying with the idea that Bob's counterpart in that timeline goes off the deep end and decides to go Klebold/Harris after Sega and Sony start curb stomping Nintendo in 1997. The question I pose to my fellow kiwis is thus: how likely would it be for a teenaged Bob to carry out such an act?

Bob unironically believes this.

It should also be noted that Ratcatcher (the original) is one of the most disturbing modern Batman villains ever and ironically something that Bob probably would like given some of the beyond the pale shit he pulled:

(Ratcatcher was an asshole with a god complex who killed a guy over an argument and was sent to jail. He got out on parole and kidnapped the prosecutor, his defense attorney, the judge, the witnesses against him, the cop who arrested him, and the jury that convicted him and basically held them prisoner for ten years in the sewers, with the witnesses who saw him killing a guy having their eyes gouged out for daring to tell what they saw (an asshole like Bob killing a guy over some petty argument).

One of his victims escaped but died at Ratcatcher's hands but his corpse was found and Gordon got Batman to investigate. Ratcatcher then promptly MURDERED all of his captives before Batman could rescue them simply to deny them rescue/spite Batman, who was horrified at what Ratcatcher did and the sheer scope of his evil being beyond even the Joker's most depraved depravity.

Sadly, later stories turned him into a generic sewer dwelling villain and he ultimately was killed off as canon fodder, but his original story is still one of the scariest Batman stories of the modern post-Crisis era.

Replacing him with a generic teenage girl who's a generic rat controlling villainess undercuts the sort of monster Ratcatcher is, the same way turning Bloodsport into a Deadshot clone instead of a mentally ill draft dodger who's brother took his place in Vietnam and lost all of his limbs, driving Bloodsport insane and wanting to kill everyone and being manipulatd by Lex Luthor into turning his psychopathy against Superman, neuters the character and any future portrayal.

So I randomly found Bob's video review of when dinosaurs ruled the earth he made for screw attack back in 2015 and really it's almost a shame he became such a cow.

When he's not showing his fat face or going on about being a middle aged manchild coonsoomer he's not bad. Kinda funny or at least his videos are something you could watch to kill an afternoon or evening with. (though I can see some of his later in life personality in its early stages)

You'd hardly believe this is the same movie Bob who pose in a Mario costume, tweet about how much he loves Star Wars and buys whatever plastic crap he can despite not having a real job, and ultimately got told to Fuck off by a girl he white knighted for.

One of the weirdest things about Bob, is that I feel you find a lot more of people going "Oh shit I used to watch this guy back in the day" more than most cows. Certainly, short of like Spoony or maybe Jim Sterling but you get what I mean. Like the trick is, he never really switched. He just kept bleeding more and more of his politics and beliefs into his videos. At least his popular ones. Like I know I never knew about the Overthinker shit at the time. Which I think is the real trick. He almost could have kept that part hidden from his average viewer. He may have for a very long time. But then, it got out because he made himself more and more of the video. And I know that drove me away. And then I learned the whole story. And now I just laugh.

Wow, I've read quite a bit of Batman, but I don't recall ever reading a story with this villain, maybe he had a spot in the background in the big Bat events. But man, he is another of those gruesome serial killers from Gotham.

That's something that was always weird about Batman and one of the reasons why I just don't like when I see Batman in a Justice League book, or anything else besides Gotham stuff, since the late 80's, or maybe even before, Batman books are all about horrible serial killers being brought down by Batman.

Sure you have some more light villains, like Maxie Zeus, but from the 2000's and so, the trend on Batman books were double digits body counts serial killers, like Zsasz or Prof. Pyg, stuff that was inspired a lot by the slasher movies at the time, fuck, even The Riddler was liquifying people by the dozens.

And that is well and good in a Batman book, I'm not gonna ask for a reasonable and realistic depiction of a judicial system in a fictional city where a serial killers pops every new week.

But there are so many butal killing in Gohtam in every damn story arc, that I can't help to think everytime I see Batman in a Justice League book fighting Gorilla Grodd, I keep thinking "hey, Birthday boy is probably killing another 15 year old girl right now while Batman is fighting silly apes".

yeah, I know, autism and all that, its all stupid capeshit in the end, but I just wonder if it wouldn't be better for batman to just be Batman and not make part of the rest of DC's bullshit, and that includes the fucking batfamily.

(This bit is in response to a list of characteristics of cyberpunk @LORD IMPERATOR posted.)
People becoming more and more like machines, losing what makes them human and becoming just another cog in a larger machine force, taking the first step from being recognized persons into being commodities on the market.
To Bob, this is people leaving ”obsolete red states” behind.
Corporations outgrowing legal boundaries and becoming nation-states on their own in all but name, usually vassalizing what's left of a formerly democratic government to turn it into a corporate state.
Bob has said that the second pro-life or pro-biological sex bills are passed in the South, no businesses will work there. Whether this is true or not can be shown by looking at Ireland in the 1980's.

Ireland, for better or for worse, was a very Catholic country; the Church had a lot of control over secular politics (the Mother and Child Scheme) and divorce, abortion and homosexuality, let alone gay marriage, were illegal. And yet, multinational businesses still traded in Ireland and, contrary to Bob's perceptions, it didn't become a land of drunk Catholic farmers. Exactly the same economic effects would happen if Roe was overturned - that is to say, nothing at all.
A new form of sapient, robotic/AI life that enters this world as exploited slaves used to feed the pleasures of a decadent human elite, setting things up for a future android rebellion against their decadent meatbag owners.
Ever seen him talk about robot police officers?
People who are not tuned into tech networks becoming social pariahs.
This is what he wants, only with ”MAGA's” being the pariahs.
”First they came for the Q tards, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Q tard.
Then they came for the MAGA's, and I didn't speak out because they're Trumpsuckers.
Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak out because they're a Popish death cult.
Then they came for the Evangelicals, and I didn't speak out because they're obsolete.
Then they came for me, and nobody spoke out for me.”
(with apologies to the Revd. Martin Niemöller)
The shitshow on 6 January was a direct result of what politicians said, you say?

Let me leave you all with two quotes from these scary insurrectionist GQP members.
”There needs to be unrest in the streets.”
”The point of protesting is to make people feel uncomfortable.”
Now, I hear you cry, which evil Republican MAGAts said this? Perhaps it was Rudy Giuliani or Marjorie Taylor Greene, or even Pmurt himself! Only time will tell which bigots who hate Our Democracy™ said that.

Oh, wait, it turns out that Ayanna Pressley made the first remark and AOC tweeted the second. My bad.
Someone who bows down to neoliberalism has no business using the word ”death cult”, and it is entirely possible for people to be the victims of crime at events you ideologically disagree with.
The Covington kids were on the National March for Life. If that isn't a protest I don't know what is.

As an aside, if being pro-life is the equivalent of being a Klan member, I wonder what that makes Mother Angelica and St Theresa of Calcutta.

I mean, does anyone even know about the OG Bloodsport? From what I got after doin' some lookin' up is the guy is one of those villains you'd easily forget about and only the most hardcore DC fans will remember who he was and what his backstory was.

I can already spot the problem. Gunn wants to make a GotG clone with whacky shit to match. Those dark backstories you outlined wouldn't fit in because that would mean having a mostly serious plot and WB thinks audiences want is an R-rated version of MCU humor, never mind how terrible that sounds. Not that WB has done a good job with these characters outside of the animated shows and the Arkham series anyway (look at what they did with Hush in Batwoman) but it's still egregious. Any fan of those stories would be right to raise the issue of how these characters are being butchered on the screen. Bob (the supposed comic book geek) is even more giddy for Gunn more than any other director, so I could actually see him dismissing or becoming hostile to any comics fans who dare question his personal Jesus.

The issue is that Gunn almost feels like a one-trick pony at this point, GoTG was fun to watch (even though the 2nd movie was "meh" at best), but it's clear the guy has nothing up his sleeve besides that. He can only play this one card because when you look at his other works they're "okay" at best. Frankly, I'd say he still doesn't get the suicide squad and that both animated movies were more Suicide Squad than his take.

I've been saying this for years, but the problem with modern DC in general is they're trying to beat the MCU at its own game, which just won't work. The main reason why is that DC has always, always been darker than Marvel, especially with Batman and related characters. I really expected Joker to be the wake up call that would tell DC what fans want from them.

Most of Bob's comic book knowledge comes from Google and comic book wikis, especially when he's trying to sound smart by alluding to obscure facts like the Power Broker (name dropped in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) originating from a 2001: A Space Odyssey comic as Machine Man before being folded into Marvel comics.

I mean, there's still that Robert Pattison Batman movie that seems DC fans are more excited for, when it comes to Suicide Squad it kinda seems you have MCU fans going "Oh yes! Finally, DC is getting its act together!"

I really like Assault on Arkham. Also, Gunn really doesn't seem like that diverse of a director. Sure, everyone has a style, but the great ones can mix it up.

He can't help but overstretch himself in that regard. No one outside of a Mr. Glass or Comic Book Guy like character, someone whose life is comic books entirely, is going to know that and Bob sure as shit doesn't have a mountain range of a comic collection in that hovel of his or a perfect photograpic memory to compensate.
Bobby hates Florida men and thinks they are all roughnecks for Trump. But now one Florida man has redeemed himself!

If Ozzy ever needed to put up a perfect image of what Mr. Tinkertrain would look like, this is it right here. The last picture legitimately makes my skin crawl.

I wouldn't necessarily say darker- but it runs a broader spectrum than Marvel tends to. Marvel always has the specter of Stan Lee's bombastic personality hanging over its head. DC has everything from very dark and serious stories to Batgirl and Supergirl teaming up to battle Dracula clones that were brought to life from a 3D movie.
