In my town we nearly had a bit of a "left for dead" evacuation when a bunch of people taking shelter in an hotel had an adjacent building set on fire.

The specific term the fireman used over the police radio was "encountering heavy resistance, disengaging"

And when the person on the other line said "what the fuck does that even mean" he yelled that someone just climbed on the engine and threw some kind of m80 into the driver side window, and fuck that.
I cannot even imagine continuing to work for federal or local government after this. They send you in and place your life in grave danger, then praise the people that tried to kill you.

That’s part of the terror of the bureaucracy in anarchotyranny. They let the lawless run free but the moment you stand and fight back against them you’re the one at fault. Part of the reason they want social workers, who will more than likely lean left and do fuck all, over cops who may harm their precious woke child who’s a victim of racism

For the wagies, the guy on the stand was the police supervisor on shift and he's talking about what kinds of police activities trigger a "Use of Force" report and apparently taking a suspect to the ground is not considered reportable and neither is putting a knee on the neck. This is the guy who the dispatcher called to snitch on Chauvin.

-fought orders every second of the arrest
-"I can't breathe" multiple times while not being touched and standing
-begged to be put on the ground and got his wish
-6'4 and 224 lbs so cops couldn't just hold him down
-the base of the neck is extremely structurally strong and the esophagus is nowhere near it
-90° twisting of the neck and craning head up both makes that point even stronger and is exhausting for Floyd's already struggling system
-several times the lethal amount of a drug cocktail in his system
Bro absolutely died from being a retard with drugs, our legal system is a joke

Thank you for the update. Really appreciate it.

You think that's scary? Lemme tell you about January 6th, the Capitol SIEGE. Poor politicians were quaking in their chambers while police shot someone and chased off the people. It was so scary, AOC could feel the bad vibes from a different part of the city and was afraid for her life.

That's fear

Whats the deal with the passenger Morries Lester Hall not testifying? Didn't he make a big deal about GF being wrongfully killed and such?

It's amazing the prosecution is doing this. It's actually recommended that if you're the party that goes first, you bring out discreditable things about your witness lest the other side be the first to bring them up, making you look dishonest, but they're not only bringing it up, they're going out of their way to make him look bad. For instance, if you want to bring out drug stuff, you want to bring it out in a sympathetic way like he's a sad, wayward soul struggling with inner demons, not "lawdy lawdy he sho loved him some of dem O P yoids! He was just gobblin dem pills by de handful."
I think that's what they were doing with the girlfriend this morning. To us it wasn't effective but on a normal jury it might have been. Too bad she's not the last witness so it's unlikely that they'll remember the emotional impact.

Catching up on the trial today after having to make a phone call. I'm counting on some more BREAK TIME!!! so I can be fully caught up before the end of proceedings.

The whole thing happened at the right time of election season, so every media blew it up so badly and now here we are a year later, still talking about it.

So, if the prosecution really scuttles the murder charge, how exactly will they argue the manslaughter charge? Are they seriously going to say that Derek Chauvin was t-posing infront of the stretcher blocking its path?
Honestly, like Phenoix Wright they should pin it all on that fat lady and say her shitty social skills and lack of job experince is the negligence that caused Floyds death to the shock of everyone in the court.

He plead the fifth. For the non-burgers, that basically means you invoke your right to not incriminate yourself.

The language of the 5th Amendment to the US Constitution:

"No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation."

The germane part here is, "nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself."
