This thread is gold! As a fascinated Britfag, it seems the prosecution has so far established:
- by the testimony of one of their later witnesses, that MMA bloodchoke guy and EMT Karen may have contributed to the unfortunate outcome as their actions required Officer Chauvin to focus on their potential as a threat rather than offer aid to Mr Floyd.
- that one of their witnesses may have been a drug dealer who not only provided Mr Floyd with the drugs that contributed to his demise, but also withheld that important information at the time of the incident, when such information could have been of help.
- That Mr Floyd's white girlfriend may have been the 'momma' he was crying out for as she had previously aided him after a previous OD. Thus casting doubt on one of the key emotive takes that 'he died crying for his mother '.
- That a man with a third grade education was giving out sensible advice to Mr Floyd on how to behave and to remain calm.
- That the only person who has thought their actions contributed to the unfortunate outcome was the poor kid behind the counter at the bodega.
- That one of their expert witnesses was not, in fact, qualified to give an expert opinion in the matter he was called to the stand for.
Now, I admit I'm not the brightest of bulbs (and a Britfag, to boot), but it is Officer Chauvin they are meant to be prosecuting, isn't it, not Mr Floyd?
