One of the problems with this whole line of questioning about use of force is that I don't think anyone is alleging that Chauvin felt personally threatened by Floyd or needed to talk Floyd off the ledge or whatever shit.
Floyd was in a tard rage when Chauvin got there, and he de-escalated the situation by putting Floyd on the ground and keeping him from flailing around.
(Edited to add a stray observation: When they scraped Floyd off the pavement, there was a big pool of sweat under his head and a big pool of sweat under his body, but nothing under his neck. I'm wondering if this means his neck wasn't even touching the ground.)
