General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

To top it off, gender irrelevant but we have full cast of “female characters”.
This wording game show that COVER look for someone to play predetermine “female characters” so troons will never get the slots no matter how much they try.
I mean it was pretty much implied that troons would be rejected on the spot but confirmation make it more funny

RIP Calli's stream. It's dead. Truly she is the Grim Reaper. Oh who are we kidding, its either fucking Susan's JewTube or Obsolete Broadcasting System fucking up again

Ame tones her "toxic gremlin" shit down in order to be more polite and accommodating to whoever she's collabing with. I don't think that qualifies as "sucking". You generally try to leave enough room for your collab partner/s to breath and make their own mark on the stream rather than making it about you with just a guest onboard that you're stringing along for the ride. Streams where she's collabing with someone she's very comfy with like Gura actually are a better showcase of her potential as a collab partner as they generally bounce well off one-another and have no qualms about talking shit and joking around. When it comes to EN group collabs, you tend to miss her as she's usually the one having to play the technical advisor trying to fix/troubleshoot in the background whatever the fuck kind of tech issues they're having, either that or she has to tard-wrangle and/or hand-hold the rest of the group with the game mechanics of whatever game they're playing.
While I do agree that that's her intention, I don't think her "toxic gremlin" persona need to be toned down as much as it ends up making her the one that contribute less, and thus the "sucking". You see that Marine hardly change their behavior, and that contribute so much more to her collab content as it bring easy antics and tsukkomi opportunity for the others. I pick Marine here because you bring up Ame persona, and Marine's horny persona is as, if not more, annoying than the gremlin.

Note that I said generally though, as that's what indeed generally happen with EN and ID collab, and we're not counting JP collab being scuffed as the language barrier is just can't be helped. Stream with Gura (and when she interact with Gura in general) where she's more relaxed with the snark gremlin gate is as you said, way more comfy. To me because she didn't stop around being skittish trying to be polite. I'm there to watch people goofing around after all, not being awkward around strangers.

Gura is actually the one in the group that needs more work in group collabs. She's fine if it's one-on-one collabs with her EN mates but she tends to allow herself to get drowned out and just sink in the background doing her own thing during group collabs.
I agree that she tend to sink in the background, but when the only one in the front is Kiara and occasional quips from Ina, Gura being wallflower is better than Ame who is trying to be the wall to not unleash her power level and Calli who sounds like she's only on the group call and doing something else on other tab.

EDIT: I'm gonna parrot the guy who said Guh and The Grim Reaper is a live streamer good like 10 pages ago, these two songs are fucking banger holy shit.

Perhaps, but I don't think she's running tech support all the time. I would formulate what you said the other way round: That Ame is in fact not doing so great in collabs, except for 1:1 collabs with people she is already very familiar with. Group collabs and "new" 1:1 collabs, she is in fact very quiet and reserved there, I do think one can say "shy". And that can be a problem. It was fine during the last one, as the jackbox games' competitive nature gave her something to do without the need to talk much. We could still laugh at whatever the hell she was drawing. But in other group collabs, it's rather notable, and leads to Kiara trying to fill the air. And her 1:1 collabs with JP... well, they are mostly very popular, so maybe it's just me, but they just... kinda... feel rather low-energy to me. And I say that as someone who appreciates Ina's comfiness.

It was an ex post facto thing, yeah, but was it really a Meiji Reformation thing? The impression I got is that it was an Edo era thing, that the Tokugawa shoguns pretended the samurai always had had such an honour codex, and that of course it always revolved around duty and obedience - a very convenient notion for those on top. But of course, already during that era there already were no large wars anymore, and no real "samurai battle" or whatever, so that was in fact a construction. But I think the construction already happened then. Unless I'm mistaken.
As much as I'd like to disagree with any criticism of my oshi, Ame. I have noticed the same thing during group collabs or 1:1 with anyone outside EN.

The collabs I'm thinking of would be ricchi mahjong, the more recent EN drawing stream, and even apex with Ollie. Sure there's great moments in all of those you can find clips of. But she definitely doesn't have the same charisma as she does if she's just solo or playing something with Gura.

However, I do still find her charming regardless if she tones down the desk slamming, game blaming, toxic gremlin within her.

Context on the whole Amuro Rape thing. This was a nothingburger. Why the fuck would they need to apologize for this?
why do you think some gachikois are up in arms? Like you said, its a nothingburger and yet the artist made it a shit burger
You know what's worse? The author doesn't have the balls to make the same kind of announcement. Asking that those in the BL circle should stop too, everyone has smoothed it out etc etc. Instead they're just gonna hide behind their little Twatter wall and be like "Waaaah, I was the one who was targeted! Boohoo me. Please gimme free monies and blowjobs." Fuck that artist, their children and their children's children.

The announcement stream from Miko and Marine might stop their gachikois but it damn well ain't gonna stop the deranged BL lovers and the artist's lackeys.
This ledditor knows what's up

EDIT: A public apology >>>>>>>>>> some shitty twitter bio and a tweet on a fire and forget account from the author would probably put me on a less angry stance. Otherwise, the BL artist is a waste of shitting space
Artist literally ghosted everyone as this shitstorm is going on while Miko and Marine have to be the ones putting out the fire the artist started.

god all I can think about is how big of a chance this bastard threw away in having two big Vtubers even talk about his shitty BL. Instead of being a good sport about it, he decided to cause a shitstorm out of nothing.

Could've given himself a nice push from the exposure by being a good sport, but well you reap what you sow and I feel no sympathy for him

Regarding getting political, I figured if anyone was in a position to get political, it would be whoever is at the current peak (so either Coco or Rushia based on superchats, or Gura based on subscribers), a la Lewis Hamilton. Then again given how surprisingly slow the Merc is this year, it would make sense if any of them try to that their dominant position will get threatened.

Of all the places to expect Formula 1 discussion, the vtuber thread was the last place I'd think of.

On that note, wasn't there someone on /vt/ running some sort of Hololive F1 tournament? I remember seeing threads about cpu-run races and they all had Hololive names, but I can't seem to find anything about it. It's a cool concept, but I don't know how exciting it would be to watch.

Why isn't Valorant dead yet? Is it the Fortnite for casuals who can't get into APEX now?
It's more like CS:GO for casuals who like riot games.
CS:GO with super powers. And if CS:GO in and of itself is anything to go by, people refuse to let that game die. Granted I've found CS:GO more visually (and audibly) interesting than Valorant despite how much older it is. Shame Valorant has to be the current hip thing while Valve sits on their laurels and not address the problems that have come to plague CS.

Why do the guns sound like peashooters? What's the appeal of the game? It really is painful to watch, like a mobile game ported to PC.

I'm sorry ame, you're alone on this one.

In other news, Ria Kirihime of rapidly collapsing minor Vtuber agency Tsunderia has formally retired, joining the ranks of Nova and Mint as some of the most prolific losses this year. One can only hope they've been snatched up by Nijisanji or Hololive and we'll soon be having to do the "lol nice to meet you" nonsense the Japanese kayfabe autism demands.
I wouldn't count on Ria appearing anywhere unless Fuzuki Miki also happens to end up retiring soon as well.

Pretty much; unlike other small agencies like LumiLive or Atelier Live (gee I wonder who these people want to get positively conflated/confused with), Tsunderia never really managed to distinguish themselves from the company they were trying to rip off inspired by, which is why while LumiLive can promote their ghost girl with the giant tits, deafening witch cackle, and mildly alarming alcohol problem, and Atelier Live can push the tranny shark (dododododo), bri'ish crab girl, and soft-voiced donut-scarfing dragon, Tsunderia is kinda stuck with the fact that their two biggest names are both barely at 25K subs each after the better part of a year, and both bear a more than passing resemblance to certain extremely popular Hololive talents.

The issue ultimately comes down to the fact that in the best season vtubing will ever see, they accomplished very little, and are now down two of their best people; one gone indie and the other just... gone. I certainly wish all the best for the people involved, but someone in management really screwed up big to have squandered that window, and it may spell doom for them, though I doubt it will be as catastrophic as the total annihilation of MyHolo TV.
I wouldn't say Tsunderia is in any dire straights whatsoever. Sure a member just retired, but the also ended off a week long event where they raised around $20,000 for the company collectively. There are Japanese companies out there who have survived much longer with numbers worse than what Tsunderia has. Really, most of the cost of vtubing is upfront. Once the model and initial stream setup is payed for, only upkeep for staff (and discretionary spending on things like MVs and merchandise) follows afterwards. I still think the talents they have left are good enough to bring the company future relevancy and prosperity.

Also, I think a comparison to Atelier Live is a bit unfair. Tsunderia is a company that had to produce their talents, Atelier Live is more like an artists collective, where everyone there is an artist who was invited to/helped create the group (+ Artemis for some reason) who created their own character art. It's not really a valid comparison at all if you ask me.

P.S. Purin's design predates Korone's

I have been playing League for more than 10 years and when Valorant came out didn't bother to try it. Looks lame, sounds lame, it feels like a cheap Chinese copy of a more popular/better game.
