SCP Foundation - Creepypasta with roid rage - now ITT: SCP fans

The admins didn’t edit the doorknob. A lot of people mistakenly think that, but it was the author’s own decision.

Also, I had a meeting with someone at Barnes and Noble today and I walked by this (attached) while I was waiting. I always feel like I’m having an out-of-body experience when I see these things in real life. The first time I saw this book in-store was over a year ago, so I assume it’s been selling well? Congrats to the author tbh
A little off topic but barnes and nobles always puts reddit shit like that on the shelves. Some of the best selling comics there are monster girl harem mangas.

Except @pixelatedharmony isn't an evil Nazi 4chan chud. Well, maybe they think she is now, but she's not from that early era of 4chan people. I'm calling them spineless because they blatantly abandoned principles and precedent to fuck an author over once it looked like things were going to be difficult for them.
Harmony may be a tranny, but isn't a troon. I like the way she is forcing them to expose their utter hypocrisy. This rewrite shit may be within the copyright license they have (but apparently did not understand at all until recently), but the sheer violation of the spirit of their policies is, shall I say, delicious?

While rank hypocrisy, obvious to all observers, is funny to me, as it is to anyone else here, SCP is very kind for providing the more high-level self-destructive hypocrisy, on multiple intellectual levels, that really gets me off.

I wish we had more smart people becoming lolcows. It's great when it happens. They're mostly able to avoid doing it, at least for a while, because they realize what turns you into a lolcow. But when they finally build up a head of steam. . .well you end up with this thread.

The license is not their saving grace here, but the anchor they will have to reckon with as the consequence of their haste in rejecting my attribution request. Their Wiki structure makes deleting my work their only choice if they care about the integrity of their licensing system.

I’ve been consulting with experts in the time I’ve been away, after being contacted by a concerned user. The SCP staff has dug themselves into a deep dark hole in terms of how they are treating me and the now-voided licensing agreement between me(the licensor of my work) and the content collection on the SCP Wiki that is managed by Senior Staff.

Greater details can be found if you can comprehend the full license text but the point is, staff have never fucked up like this before in terms of applying their own licensing incorrectly. They want authors to think they have no rights, but they are wrong. Dead wrong.

Stay tuned for a more thorough breakdown of what this means for them and their haste to smear me/steal my work from me.

I'm not sure that this will hold up in court. There are no attempts to smear you or degrade your reputation in the rewrites/redistributions themselves, and it's not clear looking at this text if discussion of you outside of your work counts. Someone who knows more about law can feel free to correct me here.

It’s got nothing to do with the rhetoric, their fuck-up was disregarding my request for attribution being removed. Because it’s a Wiki, they would have had to hard-delete and repost the pages to fully remove attribution(which unintentionally coincides with my request to them at the time). So, by disregarding that they voided the license instantly and have been hosting my content without a valid license since then. It’s especially bad because in CC 3.0 the voiding happens instantly, where in 4.0 they would have had until March 18th to correct the error. (30 days after February 16th which was the day the license violation commenced and is still ongoing from that date).

This makes their rigged vote an even more colossal waste of time & energy.

I’m not really looking for a courtroom battle(unless someone wants to pay the bills or take up an interesting copyright case pro Bono), because there are plenty of wronged people (-RU, Meta) who have been fucked by the Wiki’s inconsistent approach to the intellectual property hosted on it who would be delighted to never let something like the exile of the Russian branch happen again by pointing out this hypocrisy.

They seem to be deleting and reposting the pages when rewrites go up, so are the rewrites posted during this period safe?

Nope, the only rewrites that are safe are stuff that are rewrites of rewrites (where I wasn’t the original author) that have my contributions scrubbed out or were rewrites of my work done before February 16th 2021.

It would have been okay if staff had followed through on their pre-established principles and deleted/de-attributed my work when I originally asked, but it is too late for that now.

They could have actually had everything they think they have now if they hadn’t made a choice to be cowards. Now they’ve lost everything I ever wrote and they only have their own lack of moral fortitude and courage to blame.

Here are some passages from the Creative Commons website which provide the information I’m trying to communicate in a more readable form:

I requested attribution be removed from the collection of the SCP Wiki, because staff don’t have control over aspects of their pages like the history the only way to remove attribution is hard deletion and re-posting. Due to their refusal to follow their obligations under the CC-by-SA 3.0 license they have forfeited their right to use my material unless I provide them with express written permission.

If your experiences with these assclowns mean anything, they mean and make obvious and apparent the singular fact that they do not give a single flying fuck about the "integrity" of anything.

I'm sure you know this.

@pixelatedharmony, I'm obviously not going to ask you to out the rat if this is actually you, but is this actually you?
Oh yeah totally, I’m amazed they chose to lock it down before making an effort to sort out how to revoke my access. Truly a sterling jewel on the shit-crown of incompetence. Thanks guys, I know you know who you are that helped me get my point across ;)

Not quite. I can still see it fine, even logged out. Looks like they're doing this to you specifically.

No, I took that last night right when they locked it. I know it was only temporary but the fact that they had to scramble so hard they unnecessarily locked down their own Twitter tickles me. Gives me credit I wouldn’t otherwise have gotten in the eyes of casual observers. Especially since they’re not going to break the play by posting about it on 05 as they’re not of one mind about me so now there will only be a rumor cycle seeded by yours truly. Especially damning rumors because all of my information was accurate, so whatever other people make up on top of that will hopefully at least have a grain of truth to it.

Aaah, right. I was behind on the news then. My bad.
