Just imagine for a moment if he was a cop on the beat. Imagine if he was Chauvin's partner. Imagine him and Chauvin come to your house to take your statement regarding a burglary or some shit.

You wouldn't even look at this guy. You wouldn't notice him. Chauvin would take the statement and probably put you at ease while this guy autistically looks at your ornaments.

Imagine he and Chauvin had to take down a rapist of a certain human subspecies from a certain primitive continent. He would just stand there, Chauvin would have to do it all.

This guy is standing on judgement on Derek Chauvin. He is making thousands of dollars for it.

He isn't worth one millionth of a Chauvin. How many people has Chauvin helped throughout his career? I don't even like cops but there's got to be closing in on a hundred at least.

Fuck this noise.
This guy was a cop at one point. He said so at the beginning of cross. He worked with a police department for 5 years, and said something about being a reserve. Not saying he has ever arrested anyone, but he very well may have done something of significance during those years.

Yeah I know he was. That is what I'm trying to imagine.

I guarantee he was fucking useless. I can't imagine him trying to be assertive with me, let alone a coal black Congo nigger.

I am not sure how strong all these expert witnesses are supposed to be for the prosecution. They can't seem to agree on the mechanism of death, on the policies and practices of the Minneapolis police, and now the basics of use-of-force.

They all agree that Chauvin is guilty but they can't agree on how exactly. Almost like they were all working backwards from a predetermined conclusion....
They serve to muddy the waters when it comes to factual information. Once those can get sufficiently swept aside, or made confusing and "unreliable", the only thing left is an appeal to emotions and empathy. This is why the prosecutor has been dragging witnesses onto the stand to talk about how emotional, and supportive, and family oriented Mr. Floyd was - they want to make him sympathetic in the eyes of the jury. Combine that with the aforementioned scarmbling of the facts, and the prosecutor can count on a guilty verdict. After all, Mr. Chauvin killed an innocent, good person - the exact methods become minor details.

Imagining this as a juror, hearing the prosecution try and object to something (that they probably know will be overruled) makes me want to hear the answer even more, or believe the defense is being detrimental to their case. I don’t understand why they do that.
Also, I think Nelson has a motive with this questioning, but also knows the jury must be sick of this man talking. If he straight up answered we’d probably be done by now. They probably feel that.

........ why did he bring up his kids regarding "dangerous situation"?
It was meant to be a joke that when he writes his opinions, his surroundings are 'dangerous'. Which would be cute, from someone not a total fuck-up.

But here?

For fuck's sake. Example:
"Uh... Yes... I suppose."

Every. Fucking. Answer.

Nelson: "Agree?"
{{Stoughton}}: Well, I suppose it's possible that you could potentially maybe state that, if I'm understanding what you're asking. Yes, it's generally true that a camera lens sees what's in front of it when you point it in a direction where there are people who are standing on some surface below it, in general, most of the time.
